Charity Run in support of the rare animals protection in the Far East


The race in support of rare animals of the Far East will open the first day of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum business programme.
More than 500 Forum participants and residents of Primorye will toe the starting line of the 1K and 5K races. This year's route is different from the past ones. It will start at the Primorsky Aquarium entrance and pass through its picturesque territory.
Registration will open at 06:00 at the race expo and the race starts at 07:00. After the race, the winners will receive special prizes from the event organizers.

The Russian-Japanese house of Sumo


The Russian-Japanese Sumo House will open its doors in Vladivostok during the 5th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF). It is to host a unique match between Russia and Japan sumo wrestlers.
During the three days of the EEF (3–8 September), the spectators are welcome to watch the matches between the world’s strongest sumo wrestlers from a fan zone of the Russian-Japanese Sumo House.
All participants will compete for medals in absolute weight categories for men and women, in both team and individual tournaments. The international meeting of sumo wrestlers at the Forum is to present and promote this sport to the world.
The Russia–Japan matches will be aired live on the LED screen. During the Sumo Festival, journalists will be able to interview the world’s strongest sumotori and distinguished guests of the event.
Guests of the Russian-Japanese Sumo House are in for a brilliant show and pleasant surprises: workshops by Russian and Japanese sumo wrestlers, an interactive introduction to the sumo philosophy, exhibition matches between masters of the Tuvan wrestling called Khuresh, and the performance by Primorye Territory artists.

Universal Russian Go Federation Venue, the Far East Street, Russky Island

International Go Tournament for the 5th Eastern Economic Forum anniversary Cup


Go is a genuine business tool that brings Asian elites together in an informal environment. For Russian business representatives, Go is a key to successful negotiations and partnership on Eastern markets.
Among the delegates and honourary guests of the tournament are heads of Korean Go associations, as well as members of Indian Go Business Club, who came to Russia for the first time to take part in the competition.
Apart from the classic tournament, honourary guests will test VR-Go and hold the first virtual game ever.
During the breaks between games, players and businessmen from Far Eastern regions will hold workshops on Go strategic principles, while the members of the organizing committee – Sergey Gorkov, General Director of Rosgeologia, and Vitaliy Nesis, CEO of Polymetal International – will set the countdown timer for the 41th World Go Championship that will take place in Vladivostok in 2020.

WTC Pacific Ocean Cup. World Curling Tournament Stage


World Curling Tournament Stage among mixed pairs of the Pacific Ocean Cup 2019 will take place in Vladivostok as part of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum sporting programme. The tournament will bring together teams from Russia, China, South Korea, Australia and Japan. For Russian pairs, this will be the first tournament of the new international season. All teams are members of the global elite, so Forum participants and residents of Primorye will witness the curling masters.

The 10th Youth Sports Games of the APR


Annually, the games bring together more than 300 children from the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region to the ‘Ocean’ National Children’s Centre. The festival participants live on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.
Teams of boys and girls ages 13–16 from 8 countries – India, China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Laos, Thailand, and Russia – will participate in the Youth Sports Games of the APR.
Competitions will be held in 9 sports: badminton, 3 x 3 basketball, judo, track and field, futsal, table tennis, swimming and chess.
The organizers of the Games are the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, the administration of the Primorye Territory and Russian School Sports Federation.
The Games participants are in for an eventful cultural programme: Vladivostok sightseeing, a tribute to the S56 Submarine memorial and the Primorsky Aquarium visit.
Such international youth festivals promote intercultural communication and friendly relations between countries.
The Games opening ceremony will be held on 5 September at 18:00 in the Ocean Centre amphitheatre.

International Kolmar Coal Mining Company Mas-Wrestling Cup


Mighty athletes from 16 countries will take part in the international mas-wrestling tournament, which has become traditional to the Eastern Economic Forum.
Mas-wrestling is a Yakut sport in which to win a fight it is necessary to drag an opponent over a ledger board or force them to release a stick. An ancient dynamic and spectacular sport, which is rapidly gaining international fame.
Athletes will perform in sportswear decorated with images of the Amur tiger in solidarity with the effort to protect this rare animal of the Primorye Territory.
Strength and power, dexterity and cunning mind, determination and swiftness – all these qualities are inherent in the strongest mas-wrestlers.

Platu 25 Class Regatta for the Roscongress Cup


For the fourth time, the EEF is to host the Platu 25 Class Regatta for the Roscongress Cup on 5–6 September in the Ajax Bay, Vladivostok.
The best professional racers of the Far East and other regions of Russia are to participate in the event, a total of 14 teams.
The competition is made up of short dynamic races. The race route will be set in front of the FEFU campus embankment, close enough to the shore for the Forum guests to conveniently observe the rivalry.
All Platu 25 class yachts in Primorye are symbolically named after Russian and foreign rock bands. The ships are based in Russia’s most famous Seven Feet Yacht Club, headed by the vice-president of the Russian Yachting Federation and chief commander Mikhail Ermakov. The yacht club team organizes about 12 adult and 15 youth regional, national and international regattas per season.
The Roscongress Foundation’s team under the leadership of Sergey Bryuzga will participate in the competition. Medals and victories in the city, national and international championships, the Commodore Cup and Cowes Week prizes, all are under the Sergey’s belt.

The annual International Jigoro Kano Judo Tournament under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe


For the third time, the international Jigoro Kano Judo Tournament under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe is a part of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The tournament will bring together male and female junior teams from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and China.
The teams will compete for four sets of awards. Central is the mixed team tournament between lightweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight male and female juniors.
Separately, the tournament will identify the strongest male judokas in up to 50, 55, 66, 73 and 90 kg categories and female judokas in up to 40, 44, 52, 57 and 70 kg categories. The overall winner and prize winners will be announced.
Traditionally, the organizers are preparing a large-scale entertainment programme for the fans, including a Grigory Leps concert, meetings with great athletes of the past, master classes for young judo fans, and more.
At noon local time, which is seven hours ahead of Moscow, preliminary meets will begin closing with a match for the 3rd place in the mixed teams' tournament. A concert starts at 17:00. At 18:00 the official opening ceremony of the junior championship and the awards ceremony will take place. After it, the concert will resume followed by the finals and the awards ceremony for the mixed teams’ tournament and the overall standings.
The Jigoro Kano tournament is on the International Judo Federation calendar. The organizers are the Russian Judo Federation, the Administration of the Primorye Territory, whereas the Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the event.

Roscongress Vladivostok Combat Night


The first ever Roscongress Vladivostok Combat Night international mixed martial arts tournament will be held on 5 September in Vladivostok as part of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum sport programme. The main event will bring together representatives of the world middle-class elite, Russian Alexander Shlemenko and American Chris Honeycutt. The tournament is being organized by Telesport Media and the Roscongress Foundation.

One of Russia’s most famous and exciting mixed martial fighters, Alexander Shlemenko is a two-time Grand Prix winner and many-time champion of the American promotion Bellator. He has won 58 out of 70 fights, earning the nickname ‘Storm’ for his uncompromising attacking style and tendency to knock out his opponents. Shlemenko’s known for his spinning backkick and backfist, which have taken many an opponent by surprise. Honeycutt has a record of 11–3. The American fighter, known as ‘The Cutt’, has attained most of his victories while working with Bellator promotion.

The Roscongress Vladivostok Combat Night tournament will be held on board the Costa Venezia cruise ship. The main event Face Off will take place on 4 September at the ‘Far East Street’.
