PresentationThe Magadan region is famous for its amazing sea and tundra landscapes, perfect fishing, delicious seafood, picturesque bays and secluded islands. This is where Russia's land roads end and the boundless sea expanses begin.
In recent years, the Magadan Oblast has been rapidly changing its image. The infrastructure is being improved and many projects are being implemented, which radically transform the image of the region and improve the quality of life of the Kolyma people.
More than 70% of the region's population lives in Magadan, the capital of the region. It is a port city located almost 7000 kilometres from Moscow, on the shores of the Nagayev and Gertner Bays of the Sea of Okhotsk. For the first time in the Far East, Magadan is going to implement the standard of integrated development on a separate territory as part of the master plan. In addition, the master plan declares Magadan's special mission as a centre for the development of the north of the Far East and provides for large-scale construction. The digitalisation of business and everyday life, the development of cloud technologies, and the introduction of AI entail a constant increase in the amount of information that needs to be stored. By 2025, the amount of all the world's data will amount to 175 zettabytes, and by the end of the century, according to expert forecasts, this figure will exceed four yottabytes (10 to the 24th degree of zettabytes). Therefore, the creation of data processing centres is one of the priority areas for the development of global digital products.
This trend is reflected in the national project "Data Economy", one of the main tasks of which is the construction of data centres in the regions, which in the long term will contribute to ensuring the country's technological security.
In 2023, the first international-level data centre in the Far East was launched in Primorye with the support of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.

The Russian President has instructed the serial production of unmanned aerial systems in Russia: both large companies and the general public have a need for drones. The development of unmanned transport for the Far East and the Arctic, given their vast territories, is a demanded and cost-effective area. Drones are used to detect fires and unauthorised dumps, and are being introduced into medicine, education and the environmental protection industry.
To develop the industry, the National Project "Unmanned Aviation Systems" is being implemented, domestic technologies are being attracted, innovative developments are being launched, and state support is being provided to manufacturing companies.
At the same time, more than 70 regions of the country have bans on civilian drone flights. The Sakhalin Region is the first constituent entity of the Russian Federation to open up the sky with the help of unique Russian communication and navigation technologies based on the ERA-GLONASS state information system.

More than 4 million tonnes of fish and seafood were caught in the Far East in 2023. This is 76% of the aquatic bioresources harvested in the Russian Federation. The Far Eastern fishery basin ranks first in Russia in terms of aquatic bioresources production. However, not every Russian has ever tasted the meat of Far Eastern crab or scallops.
Why, given the significant volumes of aquatic bioresources extraction and export of fish and seafood in the Far East, are these valuable dietary products not available to Russians and are in short supply in the diet of the country's population? What are the fish and seafood consumption habits of the Russian population and why have such stereotypes of food behaviour developed? How can existing barriers be reduced and dietary fish and seafood from the Far East be included in the regular diet of Russians? How can we introduce a culture of fish consumption?
The state and business are interested in stimulating consumption of fish and seafood and promoting products on the domestic market. What can each market player do at its own stage and when is their synergy important?

Public talkSakhalin Region is Russia's only island region washed by the waters of the cold Sea of Okhotsk, the warm Sea of Japan and the Pacific Ocean. Its maritime territory is home to many rare species, so one of the key challenges is sustainable development of the region, balancing economic growth while preserving ecosystems and biodiversity.
Since the leading sectors of Sakhalin's economy are oriented towards the use of natural resources, the solution to this task lies in the interaction of federal and regional authorities, representatives of science, public organisations and business. The Baikal-Amur Mainline is not only a strategically important logistics corridor and transport flows. By the 50th anniversary of the road, which it will celebrate in 2024, it has become obvious that its present and future are connected, among other things, with tourism. New vectors of development and revision of BAM's life path are being approved today within the framework of the interregional project "BAM Tourist": six regions of the Far East and Siberia have united to make BAM a powerful tourist brand at the federal level. There are all the prerequisites for this: there are unique tourist attractions in the spheres of natural, industrial, cultural and cognitive tourism, united by convenient and understandable logistics.

Travelers tell about the attractiveness of each region: about its people, identity, history, gastronomic peculiarities. The main task of the Moskvich polar explorer crew is to develop affordable auto-tourism.
