Yuri Bashmet and the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra


The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2012 under the direction of Yuri Bashmet. The orchestra’s original line-up comprised 79 young musicians aged between 9 and 21 from 28 Russian towns.
The orchestra, which is the only one of its kind in Russia, was formed on the basis of a nationwide competition for classical musicians that was unique in its conception and scale. The competition finalists had a unique opportunity to take part in master classes given by leading global musicians and perform with them at the orchestra’s debut concerts.

The Tsar’s Bride (opera)


A premiere performance on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. The Tsar’s Bride is an opera in four acts by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, based on the drama by Lev Mey adapted by Ilia Tyumenev, and directed by Vyacheslav Starodubtsev. The opera’s world premiere took place on 22 October 1899 at Mamontov’s Private Russian Opera in Moscow. The Tsar’s Bride is a realist lyrical drama filled with poignant moments on stage. At the same time, the opera’s distinctive feature lies in the predominance of rounded arias, ensembles, and choruses based on beautiful, malleable, and penetratingly expressive melodies.

The concert programme celebrates the eightieth anniversary of the founding of Primorsky Territory. The event will take place on Sportivnaya Naberezhnaya. Located on the banks of Amur Bay, this embankment is a favourite place for locals and visitors to relax. On 12 September, collectives representing Kamchatka Territory and Sakhalin and Amur Regions will perform.

Ballet extravaganza: The Sleeping Beauty


This vibrant and monumental production of Tchaikovsky’s ballet, based on Charles Perrault’s eponymous tale and featuring Konstantin Sergeyev’s version of Marius Petipa’s classic choreography, has been adapted for the Primorsky Stage by Eldar Aliev and features sets and costumes designed by Vyacheslav Okunev. The ballet was composed in 1889, and first performed on 3 January 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg by the St. Petersburg Imperial Troupe. The Sleeping Beauty is a globally-acknowledged masterpiece, and has been performed in various theatres throughout the world for more than a hundred years.

The musical theatre production The Carnival of Venice is a synthesis of music and theatre, a costume show that amazes with its variety of styles and originality of artistic performance, and a display of the Philharmonic’s most brilliant vocalists, accompanied by the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. In the refined atmosphere of the old hall, the audience will enjoy the most dramatic scenes from various operettas and musicals.
The Pacific Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Smirnov, directed by Ekaterina Kuchuk, and includes artists from the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic and the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.

This Far Eastern quartet, which holds the title of the People's Collective of Khabarovsk Territory, will present a collection of their best songs to the audience.
