The Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum-Reserve of the Far East History is named after the traveler and scientist Vladimir Arseniev. Primorye residents often call it just the Arseniev Museum.

Visitors can get acquainted with documentary and material evidence of different eras at the Museum’s venues and exhibition halls. These are archaeological artefacts, and the collection of natural and cultural heritage of our region, and ethnographic collections that reveal the secrets of the Far East small peoples’ life, as well as paintings, sculptures, objects of pride of modern masters, and much more. Almost 600 thousand exhibits are in storage, and all the museum venues are not enough to show the most interesting of them.

“Trip to the East. Ostrogs of Siberia” exhibition tells about how lands beyond the “Stone Belt” were developed from the Urals to the Pacific Ocean, how the region unknown until the 16th century gradually revealed its secrets to the pioneers.

THE GOLDEN TURTLE is a major cultural and environmental awareness event that over the course of 16 years brought together more than 29,000 professional photographers from 152 countries. The event aims to change people’s behavior and their perception of environment, as well as preserve the wild nature through art.
170 photographs from the international Natural Biodiversity competition will be presented in the Far East for the first time.
Visitors will appreciate unique images of wild nature from around the world, feel how beautiful, fragile and perfect it really is.

‘THE MANY-FACED IN COLOUR. Russian Empire in Photographs by Prokudin-Gorsky’ exhibition features portraits captured by the pioneer of colour photography, the outstanding scientist and photographer Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky.

It is thanks to his works that we can see Russia on the eve of the disaster of World War I and the two revolutions. It is an honest, unbiased and vivid depiction of his home country, accomplished through photographs of his contemporaries, both famous and supposedly ordinary. It is no coincidence that his photographs were included in the first textbook on Homeland Studies, which was to form a love of homeland among students back in the day.

Peering into the faces of a girl from the village of Topornya, or a Bashkir wayfarer, or a camelman from Turkestan, visitors will get a chance to catch a glimpse of the country, which was lost in 1917.

Wealth of the Olonkho Land is an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Yakutskaya Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

‘The Treasury of Yakutia. Yakutsk–Vladivostok. 2022’ exhibition is organized by the State Precious Metals and Precious Stones Fund of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is one of the most important mining regions of Russia in terms of both the reserves and the diversity of its deposits, as almost all elements of the Mendeleev Table can be found there. Along with diamonds, gold, silver and platinum, Yakutian gems are of particular interest.
An ancient legend says: “Having created Earth, God proceeded to distribute the wealth. As he flew over Yakutia, his fingers froze, and God dropped the bag of jewels. The treasures fell from a great height and were scattered and sunk deep into the ground.”
The exhibition displays the diversity and wealth of the Republic: large named diamonds, intricately shaped gold nuggets, refined gold bars, Yakutian gems, such as charoite, chrome diopside, and dianite, as well as bone carving and jewelry art.

In the Aura of Cosmos. Contemporary Art of Yakutia presents a fascinating segment of the Yakutian art that reveals national aesthetics and philosophy. Contemporary art in the context of the project's title does not mean "fashionable, sought-after and avant-garde", but rather refers to "the art of our contemporaries", implying genre and style diversity. The exhibition consists of the extensive visual material from the collection of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as well as the works by various artists made in the last two decades from their personal collections. Almost all kinds of arts are included: painting, graphics, sculpture, and crafts.

The permanent collection of the Primorye State Art Gallery contains Russian paintings from 16th to the early 20th centuries. It allows to trace the milestones of Russian fine art development from ancient icons to the avant-garde. The ‘Old Russian art’ section features icons of Novgorod and Moscow schools, including Our Lady of Kazan by Simon Ushakov. The following painters are represented in the ‘Russian art’ section: Fyodor Rokotov, Dmitry Levitsky, Vladimir Borovikovsky, Vasily Tropinin, Orest Kiprensky, Karl Bryullov, Ivan Aivazovsky, Vasily Polenov, Ilya Repin, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, Mikhail Nesterov, Aristarkh Lentulov, Robert Falk, Marc Chagall, Wassily Kandinsky and many others.

The exhibition continues the tradition of the Italian art shows held in 2019 (Madonna Della Loggia by Sandro Botticelli from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence) and in 2021 (Under Venetian Skies – 18th century vedutas from the Intesa Sanpaolo collection). In 2022, the mantle is picked up by Madonna Delle Grazie by Lorenzo Lotto from the State Hermitage Museum.
Lorenzo Lotto (1483–1557) is one of the original Renaissance masters, a contemporary of Leonardo, Michelangelo and Titian. Until recently he remained outshined by the more celebrated compatriots, all but forgotten even in Italy. His very particular style and great competition pushed him into oblivion for centuries, yet the life story and the creative heritage of this peer of Titian are well worthy of examination – and often times even adoration.

The traditional Yakut film festival in Vladivostok will treat the audiences to the newest offerings of Yakutia's film industry. From 2 to 6 September in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR and as part of the cultural programme of the Eastern Economic Forum Primorye viewers will be able to see the latest works of Yakut filmmakers, as well as personally communicate with their creators.
On 2 September the Bosphorus hall of Ussuri theatre will open the festival with a screening of Cold Gold, the war drama by Peter Hiki. In the following days the audience will be able to watch: Julur: Mas Wrestling, a film about the trials on the way to victory directed by Valentin Makarov, a fantastic comedy about time travel entitled Bүgun-Bylyr (Today–Past) directed by Alexander Lukin, and two films directed by Mikhail Lukachevsky: Wild Challenge, an adventure comedy, and a drama Helicopter.
