On
3–6 September 2024, the 9th Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok
on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The Forum has become an
authoritative discussion platform for discussing the accelerated development of
the Far East economy and the expansion of international cooperation in the
Asia-Pacific region. The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
Yury
Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential
Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, expressed confidence
in the successful implementation of the Forum, emphasizing that the Eastern
Economic Forum has become one of the key instruments for the region's
development.
"I
am confident that EEF 2024 will, as is traditional, be held at a high
organizational level, strengthen the position of the Russian Far East in
Asia-Pacific Region’s economic relations system, and most importantly, help
find answers to the posed questions and challenges. The Forum's agenda will
undoubtedly include the implementation of the President of Russia's directives
on the socio-economic development of the region's infrastructure," said
Yury Trutnev.
"The
Eastern Economic Forum is regularly praised at international, national and
regional levels. On the one hand, it has become the most important political
platform for discussing Russia's initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region, and in
key international structures such as BRICS and SCO. On the other hand, the EEF
is a business hub in the Far East, where representatives of business and
academia present their most promising projects, find partners, and make deals.
EEF 2023 was a record-breaking event in terms of the total value of signed
agreements – RUB 3.818 billion. I am convinced that EEF 2024 will become a
landmark event for the business community," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser
to the President of the Russian Federation, and Executive Secretary of the
Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The
Forum's business agenda will be complemented by a rich cultural and sports
programme. As in previous years, the Far East Street exhibition will be
organized, where visitors will be able to learn about the region's cultural,
economic and innovative potential. The Vladivostok Seasons cultural festival,
which will combine the city's events calendar with special activities, is also
planned.
