The Far East and Arctic
Development Corporation and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far
East and the Arctic will present the ‘Developing the Far East’ pavilion at the
‘Far East Street’ exhibition, which will take place on 3–8 September as part of
the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2024.
Forum participants, as
well as residents and guests of Vladivostok, will have an opportunity to learn
about opportunities in Russia’s largest macro-region and take an interactive
journey through the region. The thematic multimedia expositions ‘Travel’,
‘Study’, ‘Work’, and ‘Live’ will inform visitors about the pace of economic
development, Far Eastern cities, opportunities for higher and professional
education, tourist routes, and hospitality facilities for recreation and new
experiences.
Each thematic zone will
be equipped with multimedia devices and filled with text and video content. In
particular, the ‘Travel’ zone will use a VR device to show visitors the main
attractions of the Far East that were filmed by cameras in 360 format, as well
as the video diaries of participants in the ‘Far East: The Land of Adventure’
national travel competition and the routes they took.
A neural network will
enable visitors to try out one of the Far Eastern or Arctic professions of the
future. People who would like to take a job at one of the new enterprises that
are appearing in the Far East thanks to preferential regimes will have a chance
to set out a new trajectory for their career.
A graphically animated
panorama will provide a bird’s eye view of what Far Eastern cities will look
like in the future and show some of the most recognizable infrastructure of
each region, as well as landscapes and mini-stories. At the pavilion, guests
will become inspired by the Far East by watching a book-like video with 3D
illustrations on the central screens.
Visitors to the
‘Developing the Far East’ exposition will also have an opportunity to taste
products manufactured at one of the Far Eastern hectares, learn how to become a
participant in the programme, obtain land for free, and interact with people
who are already implementing their projects. There will also be a presentation
of products, including Far Eastern delicacies, made by residents of
preferential regimes at enterprises that have been built in the region.
Information will also
be available about state support mechanisms in the Far Eastern Federal District
for entrepreneurs who invest in the macro-region’s economy, as well as socially
significant programmes that seek to improve people’s quality of life and are
being implemented based on instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As noted by Russian
Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian
President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, in 2013, Putin
declared the development of the Far East a national priority for the entire 21st
century.
“Over this time, more
than 80 federal laws have been drafted. This work has resulted in the creation
of a comprehensive system to manage the development of the Far East and Arctic.
More than a thousand enterprises have been built with state support, and
investors have invested RUB 4.4 trillion in the economy. The total number of
investment projects being implemented with state support is approaching 4,000.
Most of the Far East’s economic indicators significantly outpace the Russian
average.
Special tools have been
introduced to improve people’s quality of life. The Far Eastern presidential
subsidy is being used to update and build new social infrastructure and
renovate urban spaces. The implementation of the president’s instructions to
renovate 25 Far Eastern cities and create strongholds in the Arctic will provide
a historic chance to modernize the Far East. People are buying housing with
preferential Far Eastern and Arctic mortgages, and rental houses are being
built. Per tradition, at the Eastern Economic Forum, we recap what has already
been implemented and discuss what needs to be done. The ‘Far
East Street’ exhibition is dedicated to the same topic,” Yury Trutnev said.
Guests of the ‘Far East
Street’ exhibition will have a unique opportunity to see, hear, and taste what
eastern Russia is like and how people live there, get a sense of its unique
culture, and meet people who have tied their lives to this strategically
important region of Russia.
The 9th
Eastern Economic Forum will take place on 3–6 September at the
campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. During these days, the
‘Far East Street’ exhibition will be open to Forum participants, and on 7–8 September it will be
open to everyone. The EEF and the exhibition are being organized by the
Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary
Representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District.
