Putin to present Far East development plans at EEF 2018

Russian President Vladimir Putin will urge investors to engage in more active cooperation with the Russian Far East as part of his speech at the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov said, per RIA Novosti.

“Our President’s speech will address large-scale plans to accelerate the socioeconomic development of the Russian Far East. The President will once again invite foreign investors to work more actively together with Russian businesses in Far Eastern projects. He will also talk about strengthening security and stability in the Asia-Pacific region and underscore the importance of maintaining principles of free trade based on WTO standards”, Ushakov said.

In addition, Putin will meet with representatives of foreign business, Ushakov said. The meeting will be attended by the heads of Daewoo, Lotte, Mazda, Mitsui, and CNPC.

The 4th Eastern Economic Forum will take place in Vladivostok on 11–13 September.
