The annual Vladivostok Run in
support of Amur tigers will take place in the morning of 6 September.
The event is part of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum sports and
entertainment programme and will also close out the International Tiger Forum.
Participants of the Eastern Economic
Forum and residents of Primorye Territory will start the 5 km run at 07:00. The
route will start at the oceanarium and traverse Russky Island. For the first
time, the race will have a corporate classification.
All proceeds from the run will be sent
to the Amur Tiger Centre to preserve the protected natural habitat of this rare
predator. “Bringing together sport and sustainability, it will be an enjoyable
event giving participants the opportunity to recharge their batteries for EEF
2022. At the same time, we will be able to raise awareness about the Amur tiger
and our work to preserve one of the symbols of the Far East, while generating
interest in other conservation initiatives,” Sergey Aramilev, General Director, Amur Tiger
Centre.
The race was organised by the
Roscongress Foundation and the League of Heroes with the support of the
Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, the Administration of the Primorye
Territory and the Sports Training Centre for Russian national teams. Russian
Railways is the official partner of the race.
Participants of EEF 2022 can
register for the run in the Roscongress personal account. To participate in the
run, you will need to provide a medical certificate.
The sports and entertainment
programme of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum will be held under the Vladivostok
Open brand. It will include events in 12 athletic disciplines. The operator of
