Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs
of the Russian Federation stated that Russia anticipates Mahathir Mohamad,
Prime Minister of Malaysia to visit the 5th Eastern Economic Forum,
which will take place in Vladivostok on 4–6 September. The Russian Foreign Minister spoke about
this at the meeting with Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Saifuddin
Abdullah on 31 July.
“We value our
relationship. The President of Russia and your Prime Minister had an excellent
meeting last year. We look forward to Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad’s visit to
Vladivostok in September for the Eastern Economic Forum. We would be delighted
to host him, and as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs we would
like to greet you as a part of the delegation,” Sergei Lavrov
said.

Bahrain Joins Framework Declaration on Conservation of Gyrfalcons
The Kingdom of Bahrain has become the seventh country to join the Declaration of Intent for the Conservation of the Gyrfalcon Population. The document was adopted by Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and the UAE as part the Falcon Day International Forum, which was first held in Vladivostok during the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. The event was managed by the Roscongress Foundation.

Moscow discussed promoting the potential of the Republic of Kalmykia for its development
A meeting between Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, was held in Moscow to discuss the implementation of a number of key projects and programmes designed to create a long-term basis for the structural development of the economy of the Republic of Kalmykia and the Caspian region.

2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum met in Moscow under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal executive authorities and regional heads of the Russian Federation.
