Developing transport infrastructure and economic cooperation in border area to be discussed at EEF 2021 online session in Blagoveshchensk

On 23 July, Blagoveshchensk will host an EEF 2021 online session entitled ‘New Transport Hubs as Drivers of Economic Cooperation and Tourism in Border Areas’ part of AmurExpoForum 2021. This event is organized by the Government of Amur Region together with the Roscongress Foundation, the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, and the Far East Development Corporation.   

Key topics of this year’s AmurExpoForum are cooperation development and implementation of new logistics projects in border areas. In light of limitations set by Rospotrebnadzor, the event will not host an exhibition this year. 


Organizers offer a number of formats, including a road show of key transport hubs. Entrepreneurs involved in international trade will get a chance to take a closer look at the bridge over the Amur and visit a toll point, a temporary checkpoint, a new terminal, and a short-term storage facility located in the vicinity of the bridge.


The EEF 2021 online session will take place in the ‘Boiling Point – Blagoveshchensk’ and is expected to feature the Governor of Amur Region Vasily Orlov, representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Jewish Autonomous Region, and the Chinese provinces of Guangdong and Heilongjiang. 


The session will be moderated by Olga Surikova, Director of Tax and Legal at KPMG and an expert in the Far East and Arctic Development.


Other topics of the session will include: ‘Developing transport in Blagoveshchensk metropolitan area as a driver of economic and investment growth’, ‘Blagoveshchensk international airport: new opportunities for passenger and cargo transportation’, and ‘Blagoveshchensk–Heihe cable car system. Developing tourism and business activity of both countries’.


The session is scheduled for 15:00 Blagoveshchensk time (09:00 Moscow time).


In light of restrictions set by Rospotrebnadzor, attendance will be limited. Prior registration at leader-id.ru/events/216000 is required.
