For Russian athletes, the Vladivostok tournament will be one of the stages of the Olympic team selection. Aide to the President of Russia Igor Levitin and President of the Russian Curling Federation Dmitry Svishchev launched construction of a Training Centre for Russian National Teams and opened a School of Curling in Vladivostok during the tournament at the EEF 2019.
