The ‘Zabaykalskiy kray. The flight’ exhibition will showcase the unique works of the famous sculptor Dashi Namdakov and weapons master Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov, both natives of Transbaikal Territory, at the Eastern Economic Forum in the city of Vladivostok.
Namdakov and Bayaskhalanov have been exhibited on numerous occasions in London, New York, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing and Florence. Art lovers will now have the opportunity to see the creations of the world-famous masters in the city of Vladivostok and be inspired by the originality, fusion of reality and fantasy, and interplay between antiquity and modernity on display in their works.
The exhibition is open to visitors from 2 to 4 September.

An exhibition marking the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in an illustrated epic tragedy telling the story of the prince. They will find out about his birthplace, where he spent his formative years, where he grew as a warrior and ruler, and about his military and diplomatic feats. Twenty-five people worked on the exhibition, including historians, motion designers, artists, and colourists from Russia and Europe. The exhibition was largely inspired by archaeological finds.

The Romanov Dynasty was witness to a great number of momentous events during its 300-year rule of Russia. There was the settlement of Siberia and the Far East; the founding of St. Petersburg as the nation’s new capital; the defeat of Napoleon, the incorporation of the southern regions; the abolishment of serfdom; unprecedented progress in science, culture, and industry; and the fall of the monarchy.

This exhibition tells the story of Vladivostok Fortress and the people who helped bring such an ambitious construction project to life.
Visitors will have the chance to see military weapons dating back to the late 19th–early 20th century, as well as awards and decorations, documents, letters, and photographs from the collection of the Arseniev Museum of Far East History and other Russian museums and archives. The exhibits are accompanied by a video installation showing various elements of the last naval fortification complex of the Russian Empire in their current state.

The only museum devoted to the tsar’s official in Russia and one of the few surviving 19th-century wooden mansions in Vladivostok. Alexander Sukhanov worked as senior advisor in the Primorsky Regional Government. In 1891, he personally received a valuable gift from the future Nicholas II – a portrait and a Bure gold watch “for the excellent condition of the roads and good order in the region”. Sukhanov’s family lived in this house for quarter of a century.

The early 20th century brick building is the only surviving residence in Russia where Vladimir Arseniev once lived and worked together with his family. The eminent explorer, researcher and writer specialized in a range of fields, including geology, geography, toponymy, cartography, ethnography, history and more. It was thanks to his work that the hitherto unknown land of Ussuri Territory was uncovered. Arseniev made a great contribution to people’s knowledge of geography, ethnography, and other subjects. He not only explored uncharted territory – itself an important undertaking – he also richly documented life in the region in his books, including Dersu Uzala and In the Sikhote-Alin Mountains.

An exhibition of black-and-white photography featuring minimalistic seascapes around the south of Primorye Territory, landscapes surrounding Vladivostok, and islands. The exhibition represents an attempt by Alexander Osokin to identify the fine line between space and form – the outline which creates the image of the world as we perceive it.

The Primorsky Aquarium is the world’s third largest aquarium. The total interior area exceeds 37,000 m²: almost five football pitches are concealed within the building, which is built in the form of a slightly opened white oyster. The left wing of the aquarium holds the main pool with a 70-metre underwater tunnel. The right wing features a dolphin aquarium with a pool and stands that can accommodate 800 spectators. It’s the country’s first and only aquarium that is part of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

This exhibition of decorative and applied arts from the collection of the State Hermitage Museum (one of the largest museums in the world) tells the story of the miraculous metamorphoses of seashells in works by Russian and foreign artists from the 16th to 21st centuries. The exhibition features over 30 items, including small compositions and decorative objects. Some incorporate real seashells, such as nautilus shells, spondylus shells, turbo marmoratus shells, and so on. In others, the artists rethink the shape and form of natural shells in objects made of different materials. The oldest item on display is a French goblet made in the mid- to second half of the 16th century.

The Primorye Art Gallery collection boasts fascinating examples of Russian painting starting from the 16th century, as well as works by artists who made a significant contribution to the history of Russian art. The collection is a fine representation of developmental milestones in Russian fine art, from academicism to classicism, and from the Itinerants (Peredvizhniki) to the Modernists.
Visitors to the Old Russian Art section will have the chance to see icons of the Novgorod and Moscow schools, including the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God by Simon Ushakov, as well as copper-cast items such as icon case crosses, folding icons, icon frames, and embroidery work.

There is probably no person on earth who has not heard of the extraordinary beauty of Venice. The city is associated with a myriad of timeless symbols – carnivals, palazzos, the flooded Piazza San Marco, the picture-postcard Rialto Bridge, fans and masks.
A veduto (“view” in Italian) is a painting which depicts an everyday cityscape. By the mid-18th century, Venice had become the recognized centre of vedute painting.
At the head of the Venetian school of vedutisti was Giovanni Antonio Canal, commonly known as Canaletto. His work came to serve as a paragon for successive generations of cityscape painters. Among those to be influenced by Canaletto’s work were the talented artists Francesco Guardi and Michele Marieschi. The exhibition will provide participants and guests of the Eastern Economic Forum with the chance to view one of the museum collections of the Intesa Sanpaolo Italian banking group.

Battery No. 369, known as the Grand Ducal Battery (after Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich) is located on Russky Island between Akhlestyshev Cape and Vyatlin Cape. It is one of the most beautiful constructions of the fortress, and a great spot for walks and photographs. The coastal cliffs afford a stunning view of the endless expanses of the Sea of Japan. The juxtaposition between the powerful concrete structures and the dramatic landscapes of the island provides a mesmerizing impression. This tour will focus on the history of the battery, its military significance, as well as the domestic and foreign contexts behind its construction.

“The Tretyakov Gallery on the Move” is an interactive exhibition about the museum, as well as a public educational programme. The exhibition will inform visitors about the museum's collection, its founder Pavel Tretyakov, and give viewers the opportunity to experience visiting the Tretyakov Gallery. The programme includes lectures by the Tretyakov Gallery's researchers and film screenings about art and creative workshops.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the administration of the city of Vladivostok. The general partner is FESCO Transportation Group, which supports initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life and creating new opportunities for city residents.

Many civil engineers and officers of the Vladivostok fortress garrison were forced to leave their homeland in 1918–1922. This lecture focuses on their contribution to the defence of the region and how their lives outside Russia turned out.

The Red Ghost is a Russian war drama directed by Andrey Bogatyrev.
It is winter 1941. A small detachment of Soviet soldiers escapes from the surrounded town of Vyazma and stop at an abandoned village. However, they are still far from safety. Stopping at the same place is a well-armed group of Nazi soldiers. It is led by a Wehrmacht commander who is looking for a mysterious soldier nicknamed the Red Ghost, who comes out of nowhere and singlehandedly kills Nazis before mysteriously disappearing again into thin air.

This book is the first in a series of recollections by Pyotr Unterberger – military engineer, colonel in the Russian army, French major, and Prussian subject. The author was the son of Paul Simon Unterberger – a military leader who served in the Far East. His childhood recollections are of particular historic value, providing a glimpse of life in Vladivostok in 1890–1895. The book also covers the visit to Vladivostok of heir apparent Nicholas Alexandrovich, Tsesarevich of Russia. It describes the education system at gymnasiums in Vladivostok, Nizhny Novgorod, Tartu, and Tsarskoye Selo. The author’s time at Nikolaevsky Engineering Academy is also covered, where he trained to become a top-ranked engineering specialist and underwent full preparation for his main endeavour in life – designing and constructing Vladivostok Fortress’ fort number 2.
Hosting the presentation will be authors V. Kalinin, L. Kornilova, and R. Avilov.

To mark the opening of the new season, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra will perform a gala concert featuring classical favourites, familiar film soundtracks, operatic arias, and popular hits.
The programme will include work by a range of composers, including Glinka, Mussorgsky, Dvořák, Verdi, Gounod, Offenbach, Márquez, Brodszky, Loewe, and Monti.
The concert will also feature a performance by the Sadko Russian Folk Instrument Ensemble, led by Honoured Artist of Russia Valery Sergeyev, with Anna Gamova, Sergey Pleshivtsev, Ilya Astafurov, a host of renowned musicians, and Margarita Magay making her debut.
Taking the podium will be artistic director, chief conductor and Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Smirnov.

A public reading of the play Anne Frank by Asya Voloshina will be presented to the Primorye audience by the Good People Youth Theatre Studio from Birobidzhan, in the Jewish Autonomous Region. The basis of the play is a true story – the diary of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl from the Netherlands, which became an international bestseller after World War II. Translated into almost 70 languages, the work recounting the tragedy of Jewish families escaping imminent death has been staged and filmed several times. The Diary of Anne Frank was included on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2009. The Good People Youth Theatre Studio is a four-time winner of the Presidential Grants Fund competition and the winner of the Mikhail Prokhorov’s New Theatre Foundation competition.

The Victory Train is the world's first immersive museum housed in a moving train.
The historic and artistic exposition captures images of our country's past. It is a timeless portrait of a great era in faces, gestures, moments, authentic objects and authentic feelings.
The story is narrated by the project's protagonist Lydia, a train driver, who leads the visitors along the historical route. The audio guide is narrated by Ekaterina Guseva, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.
The Victory Train has been travelling around the country for over half a year, and over that time it has covered over 40,000 kilometres. Vladivostok will be the 68th stopover city and the 45th region on the train's route map. Next, the exposition will travel to Khabarovsk.
The project was implemented by the creative workshop Nevsky Batalist, together with the media group Krasny Kvadrat, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Russian Railways and the public organization Volunteers of Victory.

For the first time ever, People’s Artist of Russia Hibla Gerzmava will be taking to the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre.
The concert programme will feature the Symphony Orchestra of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. Taking the conductor’s podium will be Valentin Uryupin – Principal Conductor of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow.
Hibla Gerzmava’s performance promises to be a landmark event for Forum participants and locals alike.
Gerzmava is one of just a few Russian singers who could indisputably be called a true opera star. The People’s Artist of Russia and People’s Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia is a unique phenomenon in the world of Russian opera. With her outstanding acting and singing skills, this striking, emotional, sincere, and passionate figure has performed some of the biggest female roles in opera.
Winner of the Sir Georg Solti International Conductors’ Competition in Frankfurt in 2017, Valentin Uryupin is a rising star in the Russian classical music world. His career is equally divided between the opera house and the symphonic stage, and he continues to perform as a solo clarinettist. He is one of the most versatile and successful young Russian conductors working today.
