The 3rd Social and Business Award’ Star of
the Far East’ will be a part of the ‘Days of the
Far East in Moscow’ Festival in December 2019.
At the Eastern Economic Forum, Yan Khanov, Managing
Partner of the Publicity Communications Agency, a representative of the Award
operator, reported that the Award’s format
has expanded. All 11 regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as
foreign investors, are to participate in it.
The event has been held since 2017 and is a part of the annual ‘Days of the
Far East in Moscow’ Festival. According to Deputy Prime
Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, the Award
incentivizes the best employers, investors, and recipients of the ‘Far Eastern
Hectare’. ‘The joint efforts of the federal authorities, regions, business
community and media representatives stand behind all the achievements in the
socio-economic transformation of the East of the country,” the Deputy
Prime Minister said.
Over the two years of the ‘Star of the
Far East’ Award, 48 laureates representing the business, community and the media
have been identified and have already received honorary recognition for their
contribution to the development of the Far East. The Award’s objective
is to present the Far East as a ‘territory
of growth’ and a national priority in the overall development of Russia. “We need to
talk about the Far East, prove that this beautiful and unique region is not
that far away, and the life here is exciting. All the investment projects being
implemented here yield a chance to turn the course of one’s life,” said Yury
Trutnev.
The new format of the contest implies two rounds for shortlisting the
nominees. At the regional stage, each region of the Far Eastern Federal
District is to nominate its candidates through the local organizing committees.
However, anybody interested can nominate themselves by submitting an
independent application on the Award’s website.
Just like in previous years, the federal jury consisting of renowned experts,
educators, representatives of cultural and media communities are to shortlist
the finalists. The application can be submitted through the official website премия-звезда.рф.
The regional stage is to identify 99 semi-finalists, the ‘Golden
Hundred’ of high-potential leaders of the Far Eastern development. Three
finalists in each nomination will be invited to Moscow to participate in the
award ceremony. The names of the winners in each nomination will be announced
during the ceremony in Moscow.
The office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern
Federal District and the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the
Arctic are the organizers of the contest.

Russia and Bahrain Look to Intensify Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation
Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov held a meeting in Moscow with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Russian Federation Ahmed Al-Saati, during which the two officials discussed a wide range of issues concerning economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and reached a number of agreements.

Great Bustard Exploring Kalmykia’s Steppe
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, VNII Ecologia, the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, the Roscongress Foundation and Kamchatka Falcon Centre, with the participation of experts and foundations from the Gulf countries, continue to work on the implementation of the order of the President of the Russian Federation and the comprehensive action plan for the establishment of Russian centres for the reintroduction and conservation of falconiform birds in Kamchatka Territory and bustards in the Republic of Kalmykia.

2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum met in Moscow under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal executive authorities and regional heads of the Russian Federation.
