Healthy Life ecosystem organizes series of expert discussions at EEF 2024

Per tradition, the Roscongress Foundation’s Healthy Life project organized a series of expert discussions on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

In 2024, the Healthy Life project organized several expert discussions on the sidelines of the EEF 2024 that aim to promote health-preserving values and improve people’s quality of life. The session ‘Russia–China: Cooperation in Drug Security’ focused on the key priorities of the agenda for cooperation in innovation and high-tech manufacturing between Russia and BRICS countries, primarily China, such as: preventing drug shortages, ensuring the uninterrupted availability of drugs, and strengthening drug circulation systems as a whole.

“The session once again showed that the Far East is a place of power. We have united our efforts here with our Chinese partners who are ready to invest in the Russian Federation and develop high technologies on its territory. And now we are creating special conditions for both our partners and Russian businesses to facilitate and simplify work processes in matters concerning the registration system and administrative procedures. The most important thing is the universal conviction that Russia should become as independent as possible in terms of the production of drugs and their use not only on the territory of our country, but also on the territory of BRICS countries at the very least. In alliance with the BRICS association, we will become invincible in terms of the blockade on the supply of medicines and will be able to provide our citizens with the medicines they need regardless of the situation,” said Alexander Petrov, a deputy in the Russian State Duma and a member of the State Duma’s Committee on Health Protection, said following the session.

During the session ‘Guidelines for Advanced Healthcare in the Russian Far East. Best Practices’, in order to improve mechanisms used to exchange experience and knowledge, a discussion was held about the progressive developments and organizational models that the region uses in digital transformation, patient routing, and primary healthcare, which are important steps towards improving the efficiency of medical institutions, as well as expanding the accessibility and improving the quality of medical care in Russia.

“The agenda of the expert discussions that were held as part of the Healthy Life project on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum not only addressed current healthcare issues in the Far East region, but also kept the focus on key aspects of the entire industry. Exchanging experience between regions in the process of discussing the best healthcare practices is an important strategic tool for sustainable development and enhancing the efficiency of each region. This enables regions to adapt best practices and innovative solutions that have been developed in other areas to their own unique conditions. Such an exchange helps to optimize resources, improve the quality of services provided, and enhance the competitiveness of regions at the national and international levels. In addition, the joint discussion of problems and challenges helps to create a unified approach to solving current problems in healthcare and drug provision, as well as strengthen international cooperation in health protection, which is key to the sustainable development and well-being of society,” noted the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Victor Fisenko said.

Speakers on behalf of the Healthy Life project at the expert discussions included: First Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Victor Fisenko; Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolayev; Deputy Chair of the Government and Minister of Health of the Republic of Buryatia Eugenia Ludupova; Deputy Chair of the Government and Minister of Health of the Amur Region Svetlana Leontyeva; Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Sakhalin Region Vladimir Yushchuk; Deputy Chairman of the State Duma’s Committee on Health Protection Alexander Petrov; Director of the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Olga Kobyakova; Minister of Health of the Primorsky Region Yevgeny Shestopalov; Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation Grigoriy Kuranov; General Director of the Dmitry Rogachev’s National Medical Research Centre of Paediatric Haematology, Oncology, and Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Nikolay Grachev; R-Pharm CEO Vasily Ignatyev; Member of the Board of Directors of the Centre for the Development of Advanced Technologies Alexander Demyanov; B3-MED CEO Mikael Ibragimov; Vice President for the Introduction of New Medical Technologies at Generium Dmitry Kudlay; Adviser to the General Director of Innovative Engineering Centre Oleg Lavrov; Deputy General Manager of Tonghua Anrate Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
