The main theme of
the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2025, which will take place on 3–6 September in
Vladivostok, will be ‘The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity’. The
organizer of the EEF is the Roscongress Foundation.
“The
Eastern Economic Forum provides an opportunity to discuss economic, political,
and social issues not only in Russia, but throughout the world. It is one of
the most important platforms for developing cooperation in the Asia-Pacific
region. The main theme of the Forum this year is ‘The Far East: Cooperation for
Peace and Prosperity’. Without cooperation and mutually beneficial partnership,
development is impossible. Unfortunately, we see what is happening in the
modern world: the unfounded political ambitions of certain neighbouring
countries are harming business interaction, as well as the humanitarian and
scientific spheres. But Russia remains open to cooperation. Preferential
regimes are working in the Far East. Foreign investors have become residents of
advanced special economic zones and the Free Port of Vladivostok, among other
things. Now we are creating a new vehicle – an international advanced special
economic zone, which will provide our domestic and foreign partners with mutually
beneficial opportunities to strengthen the economies of our countries. Another
area of interaction is the Northern Sea Route, the shortest transport
corridor between Europe and the Far East. We will discuss these and other
topics at the Forum,” Russian Deputy Prime
Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Far
Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev said.
Adviser to the
Russian President and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton
Kobyakov said the main theme reflects the basic principles on which the EEF
is based.
“The
tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum will take place in 2025. Over the
years, the EEF has established itself as an influential platform that shapes
models of mutually beneficial partnership in the Asia-Pacific region. The main
theme of the upcoming Forum reflects the value of equal international dialogue
and peaceful coexistence as the foundations of sustainable development. The
special role of the EEF is to harmonize global economic trends with the goals
for socioeconomic growth in the Russian Far East. I am certain that the Forum
will once again provide an effective platform for coming up with solutions in
key strategic areas that will shape the foundation for the prosperity of the
macro-region,” Anton Kobyakov said.
The Eastern
Economic Forum 2025 will be held on the campus of Far Eastern Federal
University.
