VLADIMIR MIKLUSHEVSKY: WE ARE ANTICIPATING AN ECONOMIC LEAP FORWARD

Governor of the Primorsky Region talks about the preparations for the Eastern Economic Forum.

During the first Eastern Economic Forum, the Primorsky Region signed 22 agreements on cooperation worth RUB 100 billion. Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky believes that the Forum is important not only from this perspective.

“Right from the start, we positioned the Forum as an investment one. We talk less there about macro-economic problems and more about why the Far East has investment appeal,” Vladimir Miklushevsky stated at the Open Studio of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

According to the Governor, colleagues from Asian countries can come to Vladivostok and assess the changes taking place in the Far East.

“There was tremendous interest in the first forum. A lot more people applied to participate than we could accommodate – 2,000. This year, we will welcome 3,500 participants. President Putin has invited Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to this year’s Forum. So we are anticipating a leap forward in the economy and other spheres,” Mr. Miklushevsky announced.

The video is available for streaming on the homepage of the official Eastern Economic Forum website.
