GENERAL ELECTRIC TO LAUNCH ITS PROJECT IN THE FAR EAST IN SEPTEMBER

Within the scope of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Minister for the Development of Russian Far East Alexander Galushka held talks with General Electric CEO in Russia and CIS Ron Pollett. The parties discussed launch of the company’s plant in the Far East.

General Electric is planning to launch a number of technological projects for building shipping equipment enterprises together with Rosneft. The territory of advanced economic development “Bolshoi Kamen” in Primorye will become the site for their implementation.

It is also planned to hold the ceremony for laying the foundation stone of the enterprise during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in September this year. This project is part of General Electric’s plans to invest $1bn in the Russian economy. Within the scope of these plans, already under way is establishment of the Sapphire engineering and technological centre which will function in co-operation with the FEFU School of Engineering.

In addition, Alexander Galushka discussed with the management of General Electric co-operation with the company as a technological partner in developing the infrastructure in eastern Russian territories.
