President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent a welcoming address to the guests and participants of the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which is to take place on 11–13 September in Vladivostok.
The President of Russia noted that over time the Forum became a popular platform where direct dialogue is held between politicians and public figures, businesspersons and experts, and emphasised that this year representative delegations from over sixty states are to attend the event.
The greeting of the President of the Russian Federation reads in part: “The topic of this year’s meeting is ‘The Far East: Expanding The Range of Possibilities’ shows our desire for closer integration of Russia into the system of economic ties in vast Asia–Pacific Region. To promote business initiatives in the Far Eastern regions, we have established priority development areas with incentives for companies, for launching new production facilities. We created the Free Port of Vladivostok, the area with unique customs and tax regime. We are implementing large-scale social, infrastructural, educational and scientific programmes and projects, aimed at supporting export and technological modernization. All this opens wide prospects for partnership, trade and long-term investments, as well as for mastering modern, useful forms and models of cooperation, including those with multilateral structures like EurAsEc, SCO, APEC.”
