Agreement to Build a New Air Terminal in Kamchatka Signed at SPIEF 2018

The new terminal will be put into operation in 2021, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East reported.

On 25 May, the second day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018, the Far East Development Corporation and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) International Airport signed an agreement on investment in the Kamchatka priority development area.

According to the document, the investor, part of the Airports of Regions Management Company, will perform the reconstruction and subsequent operation of Elizovo Airport in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The project envisages construction of a new terminal to service domestic and international flights, along with hotels and a business centre. The airport’s capacity will rise to 750 passengers an hour. Investment in the project exceeds RUB 7 billion.
