Yury Trutnev: new development mechanisms help put in place 1375 investment projects in Russia’s Far East worth 3.8 trillion roubles

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District made this announcement during the meeting of the Sub-Commission for Investment Project Implementation in the Far East and Baikal Region under the Governmental Commission on the Socioeconomic Development of the Far East and Baikal Region. The meeting took place in Moscow on 17 July 2018.  

Alexander Kozlov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, representatives of the aforementioned Ministry and governmental agencies of the Far Eastern regions, as well as investors operating in Russia’s Far East have been present at the meeting chaired by Mr. Trutnev. 

“As of today, the Far East has established 18 territories of advanced development with free ports functioning in 5 regions. They are putting in place 1375 projects with a total investment of 3.8 trillion roubles that will create 127 thousand new jobs before 2025. We have already completed 129 industrial facilities with a total investment volume of 140 billion roubles. We have created 11.5 thousand new jobs,” said Yury Trutnev. 

According the Presidential Envoy, the last 5 years have shown a 15% increment of foreign investments in the economy of the Russian Far East – from 2% in 2013 to 30% in 2017.
