13 August 2019
The 5th Russia–China Media Forum will be held on 3 September on the
side-lines of the Eastern Economic Forum 2019. Representatives from the two countries’ leading media outlets and companies, Internet
platforms, and other industry-related organizations will be participating in
the Media Forum. The Russian delegation will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian
Federation and Chief of the Government Staff Konstantin Chuychenko.
Forum participants will discuss issues surrounding
media interaction, such as media collaboration in the digital environment,
content sharing, the creation of joint information products, professional
standards, and the protection of personal data in the new media era.
Russian-Chinese media forums are
traditionally held on the side-lines of major international events. In 2017,
the 3rd Russia–China Media
Forum was held in Moscow as part of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the Russian Federation. In 2018, the 4th
Media Forum was held in Shanghai as part of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to China.
The 5th Anniversary Eastern
Economic Forum will be taking place on 4–6 September in Vladivostok.
