4th Eastern Economic Forum to Discuss the Role of Culture in the Development of the Far East

The 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place on 11–13 September in Vladivostok, will host the session dedicated to the role of culture in the development of the Far East. The discussion ‘Role of Cultural Institutions in the Development of Strategic Russian Regions’ will be a part of the Forum’s business programme block, dedicated to moulding a new quality of life in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The round table participants will discuss how to promote Vladivostok as a multicultural and open city, and also to elevate the cultural level of its citizens. Notably, the prospects of creating a unique cultural centre in Vladivostok with the support of the Mariinsky Theatre, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Hermitage, the Russian Museum and other leading country's museums will be considered. Particular attention will be given to the potential of exporting Russian culture to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and importing the best foreign projects to the Russian Far East.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets, heads of leading cultural institutions of Russia, Russian and foreign experts in architecture, urban studies, art history, museum and theatre design will attend the session.
