PARK RO-BYUG: KOREAN BUSINESSMEN WANT TO BECOME ASEZ RESIDENTS

Deputy Minister for the Development of Russian Far East Sergey Kachaev and Ambassador of Korea to Russia Park Ro-Byug held negotiations in Seoul, where they discussed integration of Korean business into the economy of Russian Far East.

One of the central issues for discussion was the possibility of opening branches of biggest medical centres from the Republic of Korea on the territory of Free Port Vladivostok and establishing a Russian-Korean Agro-Industrial Investment Fund. “We transfer information to the Korean side about prospective agrarian projects and are ready to discuss participation by Korean investors in them”, the Deputy Minister clarified.

As was noted by Mr. Park Ro-Byug, Korean companies are already working on a number of agricultural projects in Russian Far East, but this list could be extended.

Furthermore, Korea expressed an interest in creating refrigerator terminals and Korean cod-processing plants as residents of Far Eastern ASEZ or Free Port Vladivostok.
