The official website of the 2nd International Tiger Forum has published the full programme of the event that will take place on 5 September, the opening day of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The Forum business programme will open with the plenary session ‘The Status of the Global Tiger Recovery Programme Implementation from 2010 to 2022’, which will feature reports from tiger range countries: Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Serikkali Brekeshev; Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov; Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Myanmar Khin Maung Yee. The information on the Amur subspecies population, based on the results of the census conducted in winter 2021–2022 will also be announced. The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd International Tiger Forum, Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuichenko will also give welcoming remarks.
“The Tiger Forum 2022 will provide a platform for all tiger range states to take stock of their national tiger recovery plans. Our country has made significant progress in the conservation of this rare predator: the population size has not only stabilized, but also increased. However, we should not forget about the new threats to the Amur tiger and the entire ecosystem and work out the necessary measures to curb them in a timely fashion. We look forward to a constructive dialogue to resolve the issues of restoration and strengthening of the tiger population in its potential habitats,” said Konstantin Chuichenko, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd International Tiger Forum and Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation.
In addition to the plenary session, the Tiger Forum business programme includes four events, three of which cover the most pressing and topical issues in tiger conservation: “The Tiger and Science: Study to Preserve”, “Environmental Awareness, Community Outreach to Support Tiger Conservation, and the Mobilization of Financial Resources” and “Best Practices for Tiger Conservation”. These sessions will focus on tiger research and the restoration of declining populations, resolving conflicts, combating poaching, and raising financial and technical support for tiger range countries.
“It took the state 80 years of persistent conservation efforts for the Amur tiger to do well. Now a quarter of the tiger’s range is covered by specially protected areas, and strict control is established to conserve the prey base. This is a victory for the tiger and for the people – representatives of governmental and non-governmental conservation organizations, scientists and enthusiasts. However, it is important to remember that this victory is not a ground for confidence that the Amur tiger is safe now. Humans are the reason of its almost complete disappearance. We must do our utmost to make sure history will not repeat itself!” commented Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.
A separate session of the business programme will be devoted to the conservation of the Amur leopard, which will address the status of the predator’s population in Russia.
The online and offline events will bring together representatives of the scientific community, international environmental organizations, businesses and authorities.
The Tiger Forum is organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, the Amur Tiger Centre, and the Roscongress Foundation. 2nd Falcon Day International Forum Dates Announced
The Organizing Committee of the 2nd Falcon Day International Forum met in Moscow under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Viktoria Abramchenko. The meeting was attended by representatives of the federal executive authorities and regional heads of the Russian Federation.

Amur Region Government Discusses Preparations for AmurExpo 2024
Members of the Amur Region government discussed preparations for the Russian-Chinese AmurExpoForum 2024, which will take place on 24–26 May on both banks of the Amur River. For the second year in a row, based on instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Forum will serve as an offsite platform of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Forum will be organized with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

Concerts by the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and virtuoso pianist, People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev will be held at the Vladivostok Seasons Culture Festival as part of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024. The Eastern Economic Forum 2024 is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
