The Roscongress Foundation will
present the Innovation Space project at the Eastern Economic Forum. This year,
this traditional platform will open in an unusual format: its centrepiece will
be a performance space styled as a fighting ring. Here, renowned technology
entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of the scientific community will
discuss the toughest issues facing innovative industries in Russia.
The programme of the platform will
open on 6 September with the session ‘Impact on Innovation’, which will take
place in the format called ‘Direct Question to the Skolkovo Foundation’. The
leaders of the country’s largest investment centre will honestly answer
pressing questions from start-ups, scientists, students, and the media: what
will happen to further financing of projects? How to motivate startups to stay
in Russia? How to educate young technological entrepreneurs to take
responsibility for their business?
The programme continues with Science
Battles, a fun competition in the form of short speeches by scientists about
their scientific research. Participants will try to explain complex concepts in
simple language or even with a dance, recitation, or public experiment.
The main event of the second day
will be a pitch session of participants of the Innovation Space project.
Residents of Russky Technopark, Skolkovo Foundation, and Yakutia Technopark
will present their projects to an expert jury to hear feedback, receive
practical advice, and maybe even a proposal for cooperation. The purpose of the
event is to help promising start-ups find investors and partners.
In addition, a number of panel
discussions will take place as part of the Innovation Space. These include
Friends For Leadership, a meeting of young entrepreneurs and leaders dedicated
to the development of innovation in cities in the new realities; sessions
entitled ‘Technological Entrepreneurship in Higher Education Institutions: A
Blurring of the Educational Process or a Need Dictated by Time?’ and ‘Women’s
Initiative in Innovative Development in the North and the Far East’.
In addition to a busy business
programme, the venue will host an exhibition of technology start-ups whose
activities could be useful in the Far East and Arctic.
The entertainment component has not
been neglected either. A VR cinema will operate for guests of the Innovation Space,
which will broadcast popular science videos, videos about technology,
astronomy, and a variety of AR educational content.
The Innovation Space is available on
A3 level.
