Members of Management Candidate Pool Programme and winners of ‘Leaders of Russia’ contest to talk about social mobility system in Russia at EEF

10 graduates of the Management Candidate Pool Programme and 14 winners of the ‘Leaders of Russia’ national competition of managers will take part in the Eastern Economic Forum. The participants in both projects achieved rapid career and professional growth thanks to new social mobility and educational programmes.

The Management Candidate Pool Programme and ‘Leaders of Russia’ national competition were launched in 2017 as part of a new upward social mobility system. In 2017–2018, the participants in both projects started receiving appointments to high-ranking positions within the government and state corporations as well as in business. The new leaders will speak at Eastern Economic Forum sessions that are specific to their achievements and will share their experience with people who also want to develop their own careers in the Russian government.

Graduates from the first wave of the Management Candidate Pool Programme, who underwent training from June 2017 to April 2018, will take part in EEF events. A total of 74 students were trained: deputy heads of federal ministries and agencies, senior executives from companies with state participation, State Duma deputies, members of the Federation Council, and representatives of leaders from the regions of the Russian Federation. As a result of training, 22 managers received new appointments, and 11 of them will take part in the EEF, including Minister of Transportation Yevgeny Ditrikh and Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov, as well as a number of deputy ministers, heads of federal agencies, and senior executives from state corporations.

The EEF sessions will also be attended by 14 winners of the ‘Leaders of Russia’ contest who took part in the competition from October 2017 to February 2018 and received promotions as a result, including Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ilya Torosov. They will talk about how the competition helped them to acquire new managerial skills and advance in government service as well as present initiatives and their own projects.
