The Russian Far East’s Investment Appeal to be Showcased in Exhibitions at 4th Eastern Economic Forum

Investment projects in the Russian Far East, new development mechanisms, and federal and regional measures for improving the socio-economic, demographic, and investment potential of the Far East Federal District (FEFD) will be showcased in exhibitions as part of the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in Vladivostok on 11–13 September.

The Forum’s exhibitions are intended to showcase the Russian Far East’s potential and attract investors to the region.

“EEF exhibition space illustrates the Forum’s programme points that expose the investment possibilities in the Far East. Carrying out exhibitions during the Forum helps Russian and foreign investors form an idea of working dynamics aimed at providing investment appeal of the Russian Far East,” noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.

EEF 2018 will feature several exhibitions formats.

As part of the ‘Doing Business in the Russian Far East’ exhibition, forum guests and participants will learn about regional development mechanisms, such as Territories of Advanced Development and the Free Port of Vladivostok, about the work of development institutions, investment opportunities, and about implemented and potential investment projects.

At the ‘Welcome to the Far East’ exhibition, Russia’s federal executive bodies will demonstrate the investment potential of the FEFD, including opportunities for international cooperation. The exhibition will feature a number of federal ministries and agencies, including: the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Federal Service for Surveillance of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, and the Federal Agency for Tourism, as well as the Far East Development Informational Support Fund.

For example, the exhibition by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation will focus on the Russian Far East’s natural riches, nature reserves, and national parks. Their stand will feature interactive maps of the macroregion’s natural resources, protected territories, and ecotourism trail routes and will allow visitors to have a ‘360-degree’ adventure in the reserves of the Russian Far East. The Federal Agency for Tourism will show forum guests the variety of tourism opportunities available in the Russian Far East, starting from health and sports tourism to industrial and culinary tourism. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will present ten new investment projects that are either already being implemented or will be implemented in the Russian Far East with the support of the Ministry. The Kemerovo Region will be a special guest of the exhibition, presenting projects that have the potential to unite the resources, commodity markets, and industries of Siberia and the Russian Far East.

The EEF partner networking areas, including those of media partners, will showcase the achievements of the forum’s partners. For example, the Russian Export Center will have a stand in the exhibition zone featuring examples of unique export products, while the NIPIGAZ (SIBUR) stand will present information about its manufacturing work and strategic projects, including the construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant, one of Gazprom’s largest investment projects in the FEFD.

EEF 2018 will also be host to a number of photo exhibitions.
