The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East proposes making, as one of the key topics at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) this year, stories told by businessmen about operating conditions in the Far East, according to Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Galushka, talking at a press conference at the ASEAN—Russia Summit.
“Over this year, these mechanisms, advanced special economic zones, the Free Port of Vladivostok and other – TASS comment) have come into play; we have specific projects, the first success stories, precise investment figures, specific people responsible for this. Moreover, it is not just we who can talk now with investors about the possibility and need to come to the Far East, but investors themselves, who can tell how long it took them to obtain construction permits, how convenient the customs procedures are for crossing the border, how they are getting on working with our managing company, how great the administrative burden is,” Alexander Galushka said.
In the Minister’s opinion, investors’ stories about practice experience in the Far East are valuable. “And the conclusion from this is that you can and need to come to the Far East, that what the Russian state has done has been done to meet the requirements and needs of investors and we would like to build EEF primarily around this,” the Minister said. Alexander Galushka also reminded those present that Thursday 19 May is the first anniversary of the signing of the President’s decree on holding EEF on an annual basis.
The Eastern Economic Forum 2016 will take place on 2–3 September in Vladivostok.

Amur Region Government Discusses Preparations for AmurExpo 2024
Members of the Amur Region government discussed preparations for the Russian-Chinese AmurExpoForum 2024, which will take place on 24–26 May on both banks of the Amur River. For the second year in a row, based on instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Forum will serve as an offsite platform of the Eastern Economic Forum. The Forum will be organized with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.
