Days of Yakut Cinema


The traditional Yakut film festival in Vladivostok will treat the audiences to the newest offerings of Yakutia's film industry. From 2 to 6 September in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Yakut ASSR and as part of the cultural programme of the Eastern Economic Forum Primorye viewers will be able to see the latest works of Yakut filmmakers, as well as personally communicate with their creators.
On 2 September the Bosphorus hall of Ussuri theatre will open the festival with a screening of Cold Gold, the war drama by Peter Hiki. In the following days the audience will be able to watch: Julur: Mas Wrestling, a film about the trials on the way to victory directed by Valentin Makarov, a fantastic comedy about time travel entitled Bүgun-Bylyr (Today–Past) directed by Alexander Lukin, and two films directed by Mikhail Lukachevsky: Wild Challenge, an adventure comedy, and a drama Helicopter.

Theatre “Baikal”


Theatre “Baikal” is the calling card of the Republic of Buryatia and one of Russia’s top creative teams. Baikal’s performances invariably rank amongst the most exciting on Russia’s cultural scene.

Musical director –Battulga Galmandakh.

The concert programme will include selected performances. The theatre’s ballet troupe will present a diverse selection of dance styles: folk dancing, ballet, vogue and contemporary. Musicians from the National Orchestra of Buryatia will perform live music from the steppes on folk instruments, and the theatre’s solo artists will perform Buryat folk chants in a completely new format! The audience will be treated to some unique throat singing, transporting their imagination across the vast expanses travelled by the nomads!
