More than 109,400 Russian citizens have applied for one-hectare land lots in the Russian Far East and more than 35,000 have already received them under the programme. Most applicants come from the Far East, with Primorye and Khabarovsk Territories leading the way, the Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East said in a press release last Thursday, at the day of the first anniversary of the launch of the all-Russia stage of the programme.

‘A Hectare in the Far East’ programme entitles every Russian citizen to a one-hectare land lot in the Russian Far East free of charge. The programme was inaugurated on 1 June 2016 for the Far East residents and was expanded to cover all Russian citizens on 1 February 2017.
