Development of
international cooperation between Russia, China and Mongolia will be discussed
by participants of the Zabaikalye International Economic Forum “New Horizons
2024” to be held in Chita and Aginsky Buryat District on 19–20 July. The Forum
will be a visiting event of the Eastern Economic Forum. The EEF is organized by
the Roscongress Foundation.
“The participants of the New
Horizons 2024 Forum, including guests from China, Mongolia and other countries,
will touch upon a wide range of topics dedicated to the comprehensive
development of international cooperation. I am confident that the Forum will
give a new impetus to further strengthening interstate cooperation at the
regional level, increasing trade turnover between Russia and partner countries,
establishing social and cultural ties, and developing congress and exhibition
activities in the region,” noted Igor Pavlov, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress
Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The key
event of the New Horizons 2024 Forum will be the plenary session ‘International
Cooperation between Russia, China and Mongolia’, which will discuss the vectors
of cooperation between the three countries. As part of the business programme,
strategic sessions are planned to discuss such topics as medical and health
tourism, international cooperation, investment potential, international tourist
routes, as well as cooperation on the development of domestic and international
tourism. The Forum will be attended by representatives of Russian and foreign
authorities, as well as the business community.
During the cultural part of the programme, Forum participants will be
able to visit the international art exhibition on the ‘Great Tea Road’, the
theatrical performance ‘Meeting of Three Countries: Russia, China, and
Mongolia’ and the grand opening of the sculpture ‘Cauldron of Friendship of
Three Countries’. In addition, a photo exhibition of Zabaikalye tourist
destinations, presentation of traditional products and souvenirs of the
region’s craftsmen is planned, during which guests will take part in creative
and gastronomic masterclasses. Participants will also be able to learn more
about the work of Zabaikalye sculptor and gunsmith Zhigzhit Bayaskhalanov at
his personal exhibition.
The New Horizons 2024
Forum will conclude with the festival ‘Cuisine of Peoples on the Great Tea
Route’. Russian and foreign chefs will come to Chita and, together with their
Zabaikalye colleagues, will develop a unique menu combining the cuisines of the
peoples of three countries – Russia, China, and Mongolia.
The Forum is organized with the
support of Alexander Osipov, Governor of Zabaikalye Territory, the Government
of Zabaikalye Territory, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the
Development of the Far East and Arctic, the Far East and Arctic Development
Corporation and the Roscongress Foundation.
The 9th
Eastern Economic Forum will take place on 3–6 September 2024 on the campus of
the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
