On July 4th, an off-site session of the Eastern
Economic Forum took place in Ho Chi Minh City, where representatives from
Russia and Vietnam discussed key areas of trade, economic, and business
relations between the two countries. The event was attended by over 100
high-ranking representatives of Vietnamese businesses from the most promising
sectors for cooperation, such as shipbuilding, textile production, agriculture,
furniture manufacturing, and others. From the Russian side, the meeting was
attended by Alexander Stuglev, Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Igor
Pavlov, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, and Timur Sadykov,
Consul General of the Russian Federation in Ho Chi Minh City.
"The friendly relations between our countries
have existed for several decades. This year, Russia and Vietnam celebrated 12
years since the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership. Both
states strive to strengthen mutually beneficial ties, which contribute not only
to the growth of trade turnover and economy but also to the development of
culture and science,"
noted Timur Sadykov.
During the session, participants emphasized the
importance of joint projects and investments aimed at strengthening
infrastructure and improving the quality of life for citizens of both
countries.
"Russia and Vietnam have many promising areas for
cooperation,"
said Alexander Stuglev, Director of the Roscongress Foundation. "These
include hydrocarbons, transportation, the construction industry, tourism, the
fashion industry, and of course, IT. The rapidly developing economy of the
country requires the modernization of transport infrastructure, where Russian
technologies can be of help. Additionally, Vietnam's high agricultural
potential and demand for exotic products create opportunities for joint work in
agriculture."
The session also provided a detailed overview of the
Roscongress Foundation's ecosystem and conducted a comprehensive presentation
of opportunities for foreign businesses, including projects such as the St. Petersburg
International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian Energy Week,
the "Let's Travel!" Tourism Forum, and the Russian Design Industry
Forum.
"Our events provide foreign companies with wide
opportunities for interaction with Russian enterprises and finding new paths
for cooperation. These platforms not only facilitate important discussions but
also lead to the conclusion of agreements that stimulate economic growth and
development. We strive to create conditions for fruitful dialogue and mutually
beneficial partnerships that will bring significant benefits to both Russian
and Vietnamese businesses," emphasized Igor Pavlov.
The Eastern Economic Forum will be held from September
3 to 6, 2024, on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in
Vladivostok. The organizer of the EEF is the Roscongress Foundation.
