Vladimir Putin Invites South Korean President Moon Jae-in to EEF 2018 as Guest of Honour

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to attend the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which will be held in Vladivostok on 11–13 September. The news was announced by Putin following talks between Russia and South Korea, which took place as part of Moon Jae-in’s visit to Russia.

“We proposed that South Korean investors take a more active part in implementing the programmes to develop the Russian Far East. I mean, in particular, modernization of the free port of Vladivostok, the technological upgrade of the Zvezda shipyard, and maintaining and operating the Northern Sea Route and the Trans-Siberian Railway. These and other promising joint projects will be discussed during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in September. We would be glad to see the President of the Republic of Korea there as a guest of honour,” said Putin.

Other figures to have recently been invited by Putin to EEF 2018 include President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea Kim Jong-un.
