Valdai Discussion Club to Examine Russia’s Pivot to the East at EEF 2018

Valdai Discussion Club will deliberate over the prospects for the development of relations in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) and the role of the Russian Far East in this process at the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, which will take place in Vladivostok on 11–13 September.

The Valdai Discussion Club session ‘New Geopolitics and Political Economy of Asia: Opportunities for Russia’ on multilateral cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region is expected to be a part of the Forum’s business programme. The panellists will discuss global economic and political cooperation between Russia and Eurasia. Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for the Development and Support of the International Valdai Discussion Club Andrei Bystritsky, as well as Russian and foreign politicians, diplomats, scholars and political scientists are to participate in the session.

In addition, EEF 2018 will host the TV debates of the Valdai Discussion Club and Russia-24 TV Channel, where the annual report of the Club ‘Toward the Great Ocean 6: The Ideology Behind Russia’s Pivot to the East’ will be presented. The Eastern Economic Forum 2017 introduced this format.
