Delegation of American Students to Take Part in EEF

A delegation of students from the United States’ leading universities will take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on 11–13 September.

Young entrepreneurs, financiers, IT specialists, political scientists, social scientists, and international relations specialists from the some of the most famous universities in the US, including a number of Ivy League schools (Stanford University, the University of Notre Dame, Columbia University, Cornell University, Brown University, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania), will make up the delegation of American students.

The Russian-American Cooperation Initiative, an American non-profit organization, is responsible for organising the young American leaders’ participation in the forum. The initiative was supported by the Roscongress Foundation, the Russian Embassy in the USA, and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“EEF makes convincing arguments in favour of multilateral cooperation with Russia and demonstrates the country’s most ambitious projects and initiatives in the Asia-Pacific Region. By participating in this forum, not only will these young Americans have their eyes opened to the Russian Far East and realize the falsehood of negative stereotypes about Russia, but this experience will also serve as a starting point for collaboration between promising young people in Russia and the US”, said head of the delegation and Russian-American Cooperation Initiative CEO Sergey Gladysh.

“We’re putting our trust in the youth. We hope that the new generation of young leaders in both countries will be able to transform Russian-American relations, restoring trust and wide-scale cooperation”, added Gladysh.

The American delegation is also expected to meet with young Russian professionals during EEF.
