Days of the Far East Will be Held in Moscow for Third Time

The ‘Days of the Far East in Moscow’ festival will be held for the third time on 2–14 December. The central event of the programme will be a festival for young people, which will be held at the Expocentre on 12–14 December. Muscovites and guests of the capital will have a chance to learn about career, educational, business, and tourism opportunities in the Far Eastern Federal District as well as the culture, traditions, and cuisine of the Far Eastern regions.

The festival’s business programme will include presentations of the Far Eastern regions and major event tourism activities attended by popular directors, actors, and bloggers. Separate discussions will be devoted to urban studies, space, and the development of student groups. Master classes will also be held to teach young people effective job search skills.

 Young specialists from Moscow and the Moscow Region will have a chance to meet employers from the Far Eastern Federal District, while schoolchildren will have the opportunity to participate in the ‘Closer to the Far’ Olympiad and gain an additional 10 points for their Unified State Examination results.

One of the key events of the festival will be the Great Far Eastern Quest in which the top 10 winners will receive free tourism trips to nature reserves and exotic regions of the Far East.

The entertainment programme includes the ‘Move East!’ music festival and the ‘Hold the Crab!’ gastronomic festival. Contemporary Far Eastern groups will perform at the music festival, while guests will be able to enjoy Far Eastern delicacies at the gastronomic festival.

The festival will also include an awards ceremony for Star of the Far East Prize, which provides incentives to the best employers, investors, and recipients of the ‘Far Eastern Hectare’.

The ‘Days of the Far East in Moscow’ will feature a Far East Fair on Novy Arbat Street on 2–8 November, where people can purchase goods, products, and souvenirs from all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. Particular attention will be devoted to products manufactured on the ‘Far Eastern Hectares’. There will be a food court at the fair, where people can try unique dishes from the Far East. Concerts, master classes, and competitions will also be held for visitors. The ‘Taiga’ interactive zone will provide an opportunity to learn about the successes and achievements in the socioeconomic development of the Far East.

Part of the ‘Days of the Far East in Moscow’ programme kicked off on 8 November with the launch of the Far Eastern Express, a thematic train that will run along the metro ring line for six months. Over this period, some 3 million passengers will get to know the sights, history, and unique nature of the Far Eastern Federal District.

In addition, collections of prominent designers from the Far East will be presented on 11 December at Vostok Fashion Day in Moscow. The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation as part of the Days of the Far East in Moscow. The platform includes the innovative Hyundai Motorstudio multi-format brand space.

During the fashion show, guests will view the work of designers who have made a name for themselves with their collections at Asian Fashion Weeks and whose talent deserves special attention from Moscow audience. In particular, there will be a presentation of Svetlana Nikonova’s ‘Lace’ children’s collection, which generated a lot of attention at the Chinese Fashion Week in Beijing.

Guests will be able to take in performances by Far Eastern artists as well as view the exhibition ‘Women’s Images in Contemporary Painting by Artists of the Far Eastern Federal District. During the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, the exhibition was held on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island for the Forum’s guests and participants before moving on to the Primorsky State Art Gallery for Vladivostok residents after the Forum concluded.

Vostok Fashion Day 2019 will continue introducing people to the creative achievements of Far Eastern designers, which began at the Eastern Economic Forum 2019, when the Far East – Fashion Forpost fashion show was held on the FEFU campus as part of the Forum’s cultural programme.
