Officials Discuss Preparations for EEF 2021

An interdepartmental meeting was held in Moscow on a wide range of issues concerning preparations for the 6th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which will take place in Vladivostok on 24 September. The meeting participants discussed measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety at the EEF, the formats for the participation of foreign guests as well as the preparation of Vladivostok and the Far East Federal University (FEFU) campus for the Forum.

“The Eastern Economic Forum will be the second major international event this year after the SPIEF and will be held in a hybrid format. We expect high-level guests to attend both in the traditional face-to-face and online format. I would also like to stress that ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety is an unconditional priority during the event,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee.

The meeting participants noted the positive experience gained from making preparations for the SPIEF 2021 taking into account sanitary and epidemiological measures, which will be taken into account during the EEF. In particular, mandatory PCR testing will be organized for all participants. The number of PCR testing points in Moscow and Vladivostok will be increased for the convenience of Forum guests.

Other issues discussed at the meeting include possible formats for foreign guests to effectively participate in the events of the EEF 2021, the procedure for them to enter the country, and visa support for participants.

The meeting also highlighted the progress that has been made in implementing roadmaps for the preparation of the Primorsky Territory, Vladivostok, and the FEFU campus, including the repair of city infrastructure and building facades and the readiness of hotels to receive Forum participants.
