The Eastern Economic Forum will hold a visiting session titled
‘Prospects for Interregional Cooperation between the Russian Far East and the
Provinces of Guangdong and Heilongjiang’ in Guangzhou on 8–9 August 2024. The
event is being organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far
East and Arctic, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, and the
Roscongress Foundation with the support of the governments of the provinces of
Guangdong and Heilongjiang.
“The People’s Republic of China is one of the Russian Federation’s
strategic partners. Relations between our countries are at the highest level in
our history and continue to evolve. Preserving and intensifying these
time-tested friendly ties between the Russian Federation and the People’s
Republic of China is essential to maintaining stability in the world. Only the
stability of peace and continued trust between our countries can create
conditions for the well-being and security of our people. The Russian side will
discuss these and other issues with our Chinese partners during the visiting
session. Of course, we will be glad to see our colleagues take part in the
Eastern Economic Forum,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary
Representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District
Yury Trutnev said.
During the visiting session, the Russian delegation, which will also
include representatives of the Far Eastern Federal District’s government and
business community, will present the region’s economic and investment
potential, as well as promising areas for cooperation and other projects.
“Cooperation between Russia and China encompasses numerous areas,
including the economy, trade, and investment. It opens up new horizons for
doing business. It is crucial for us to develop and strengthen our relations.
This format of visiting sessions has proven its effectiveness, as it provides
an opportunity to study the most promising areas for investment and the
specifics of doing business in the country. Integration opens up new horizons
for further cooperation,” Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian
Far East and Arctic Anatoly Bobrakov said.
Roughly 100 representatives of Chinese businesses from such industries
as high-tech manufacturing, logistics, petrochemicals, LNG, shipbuilding,
agriculture, and tourism will take part in the presentations and working
sessions. Representatives of the Russian side are also expected to visit
enterprises in Guangdong.
“The Eastern Economic Forum’s visiting sessions play a major role in
strengthening partnerships and friendly ties between Russian and foreign
entrepreneurs, and reveal the Far East’s potential as a platform for productive
interaction between our countries. The main topics of the event in Guangzhou
will continue to be discussed as part of the EEF 2024 business programme,”
Roscongress Foundation Deputy CEO and EEF Director Igor Pavlov said.
The Eastern Economic Forum will take place on 3–6 September 2024 in
Vladivostok at the campus of Far Eastern Federal University. The EEF is being
organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
