The Eastern Economic Forum 2018 to Host the 7th International APEC Education Conference

The 7th International APEC Education Conference is to take place on 11–12 September as part of the 4th Eastern Economic Forum. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Education in the Digital Era: Challenges and Opportunities for APEC’.

“The APEC International Conference for the fourth time is a part of the Eastern Economic Forum. The integration of this event into the EEF programme ensures the strengthening of cooperation in education between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, pooling the experience of implementing advanced training programmes and the development of interuniversity ties. Such a format contributes to solving the issues of training qualified personnel and employment of graduates in the Russian Far East,” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.

About 100 delegates from APEC economies such as representatives of diplomatic and consular institutions, ministries, specialized international organizations and leading universities in the Asia-Pacific region are to attend the event. The conference participants will discuss the most critical issues of modernization of university-level education and its role in today’s world.

The conference is to continue a series of international educational forums on the integration of the educational systems of APR, mechanisms for strengthening cooperation in education and mobility, the exchange of knowledge and information that took place in Primorye in 2012–2017 under the official resolution of APEC.
