Experts and
analysts from the Roscongress Foundation along with Russian News Agency TASS
have prepared a special issue of the Roscongress
Insider publication dedicated to the results of the Eastern Economic Forum
in Vladivostok on 4–6 September 2019. The publication primarily focuses on
expanding economic horizons, international cooperation, and the social sector.
These issues are traditionally addressed within the Eastern Economic Forum’s
business programme.
Heads of
state, representatives of the federal authorities, heads of Russian regions,
leading economists, representatives of the business community, and opinion
leaders serve as experts who evaluate the results of the Eastern Economic Forum
in the digest. Such officials include Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Mongolian
President Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Russian Minister for the Development of the
Far East and the Arctic Alexander Kozlov, Russian Minister of Economic
Development Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology
Dmitry Kobylkin, Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, and Russian
Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, among several others.
This special
issue of Roscongress Insider paid
particular attention to the statistics of the past Eastern Economic Forum and
the economic indicators of the Far Eastern Federal District. The Forum set a
record in terms of the number of participants and the value of the agreements
signed. Over the course of the EEF 2019, a total of 270 agreements valued at
RUB 3.4 trillion were concluded. Most of them were signed by residents of
advanced special economic zones registered in the Far East (369 companies worth
RUB 2.5 trillion).
Roscongress Insider addresses the regional
agenda in figures and facts about the investment climate in the Far East, which
accounts for 25–30% of
foreign investment in Russia. Nine of the eleven regions in the Far Eastern
Federal District showed improvements in most indicators of the national rating
of the condition and investment climate in the regions of the Russian
Federation, and 15 companies became residents of the RU Tech Park over the year
between the EEF 2018 and EEF 2019.
Observations
made by participants in the Eastern Economic Forum identified priorities for
economic development, cooperation between states and international
organizations, and social infrastructure and suggested the most effective ways
to solve them. The expert opinions are available on the resources of the ROSCONGRESS.ORG
Information and Analytical System.
Roscongress Insider is a Roscongress
Foundation project that recaps the major results of the country’s largest
business events. Each issue contains memorable quotes by politicians, heads of
leading companies, and representatives of the expert and scientific community
as well as key findings and user-friendly statistics.
