On the sidelines
of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum, the Government of Khabarovsk Territory and
the Roscongress Foundation agreed to cooperate on promoting Khabarovsk
Territory brand and increasing its investment, convention, exhibition and
tourism potential.
The
document was signed by Mikhail Degtyarev, Governor and Chairman of Khabarovsk
Territory Government, and Alexander Stuglev, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.
“First time, the
parties came to an arrangement to sign an agreement between the Roscongress
Foundation and Khabarovsk Territory at the ‘Open the Far East’ Forum in
Khabarovsk, which was held with the support of the Foundation and the Russian
Tourism Forum ‘Travel!’ in August 2023.
In order to effectively and comprehensively promote the region’s opportunities,
promote interregional tourism and attract foreign tourists, further mutual
integration of tourism-related convention and exhibition events is necessary,”
said Alexander Stuglev, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.
The
agreement sets out the main steps to achieve the goals of cooperation,
including presentations of Khabarovsk Territory at events organized by the
Roscongress Foundation, participation of Khabarovsk Territory’s display in
interregional and international events organized by the Foundation, and the
development of an event passport for Khabarovsk Territory with the support of
the National Congress Bureau of Russia.
As noted by
Khabarovsk Territory Governor Mikhail Degtyarev, the key objective of the
signed agreement is to create conditions for promoting the event and business
potential of Khabarovsk Territory in the domestic and international markets.
“The Foundation is the largest organizer of convention, exhibition and public
events in the investment and foreign trade spheres and implements projects
aimed at strengthening the national interests of the Russian Federation. I am
confident that joint work based on the experience and professional competences
of the participants of the agreement will contribute to the formation of
conditions for mutually beneficial cooperation between business circles of
Russia and foreign countries, increase the brand recognition of Khabarovsk Territory
both inside and outside the country,” said Mikhail Degtyarev.
The document also
provides for the exchange of information on issues arising in the process of
cooperation, consultations and the development of the concept of convention and
exhibition events.
