The first settlement on ‘Far Eastern hectares’ in the Khabarovsk Territory will appear in 2018

The first settlement on ‘Far Eastern hectares’ in the Khabarovsk Territory will appear in 2018, as reported by the region’s Parliament.

The first community made up of lands granted under the ‘Far Eastern Hectare’ programme will appear in the Khabarovsk Territory in 2018. The new village will consist of about 600 land plots.

The land plots lie close to one another near the Kruglikovskoe rural settlement in Lazo District and do not belong within the boundaries of any existing community. ‘Far Eastern hectares’ there have been taken up by more than 800 people. Utility lines, a highway and a railway are located nearby. It is expected that a regional law concerning formation of the new village will be passed in February.

As reported by the regional government, the inhabitants of the new village should decide on its name by May. The Territory’s government has already held a contest for the best name, with Lazurnyi, Kedrovoe, Tigrovyi, Brusnichny, Bagulniki and Pryozerye being the leaders.
