The business programme architecture of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024
(EEF), which will take place on 3–6 September on the campus of Far Eastern Federal
University in Vladivostok, has been released on the official EEF website. The
main theme of the Forum this year is ‘Far East 2030. Combining Strengths to Create
New Potential’. The EEF is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
“Russia continues its pivot to the East. This requires the construction
of new railways and highways, energy facilities, and further steps to develop
the Northern Sea Route. The key to the accelerated development of the Far East
is the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his vision of the
priority challenges facing the macro-region. The head of state has declared the
development of the Far East a national priority for the entire 21st
century. For this, unique support measures are being developed and introduced,
which are then being extended to other territories of the country. For the
ninth year now, the results of this development have been presented at the
Eastern Economic Forum, which has not only become one of the largest
international platforms for meetings with leading Russian companies and foreign
partners, but also a tool for thoroughly changing living conditions in the Far
East and the Arctic,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary
Representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury
Trutnev said.
The business events of the EEF 2024 are split into seven thematic
pillars: ‘New Contours of International Cooperation’, ‘Technologies to Ensure
Independence’, ‘Financial Value System’, ‘The Russian Far East’, ‘People,
Education, and Patriotism’, ‘Transport and Logistics: New Routes’, and ‘Master
Plans: From Architecture to the Economy’.
“The Eastern Economic Forum has established itself as the most important
platform for intensifying cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. A
constructive international dialogue is of particular importance today amidst
all the global changes. Due to the growing demand for sovereign development,
countries are looking for new growth points, which dictates the priorities of
the upcoming Forum. Representatives of Russian and foreign government bodies,
as well as expert and business communities, will discuss improvements to global
trade instruments and the interstate settlement system, ways to achieve
technological sovereignty, as well as issues concerning full-scale cooperation,
including as part of integration associations. Much attention will be paid to
the development of the Russian Far East. The EEF will address such topics as
economic potential for territorial development, preferential regimes, and
master plans for Far Eastern cities. I firmly believe that the Forum will help
to outline new development trajectories amidst these global changes and develop
mechanisms that will ensure Russia’s leadership in cooperation with its
partners in the Asia-Pacific region,” Adviser to the Russian President and
Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
As part of the ‘New Contours of International Cooperation’ pillar,
participants will discuss the global challenges facing Russia and countries of the
Asia-Pacific region, specifically the role of Shanghai Cooperation Organization
and BRICS countries in building a multipolar world, investment cooperation,
climate agenda issues, and many other topics.
The ‘Technologies to Ensure Independence’ track includes sessions
devoted to the data economy, digital transformation of states, modernization of
production, artificial intelligence, new energy, and other issues.
The development of global trade and investment, as well as monetary
policy and intellectual property issues will be the focus of the ‘Financial
Value System’ pillar.
The ‘Transport and Logistics: New Routes’ will feature discussions about
the prospects of the Northern Sea Route, cooperation in logistics, the
development of international transport corridors, as well as how to increase
the connectivity of the regions that comprise the Far Eastern Federal District.
Participants in the pillar ‘The Russian Far East’ will look at ways to
improve preferential regimes and conditions for small businesses, measures to
support the population, and the development of promising areas in the economy
of the macro-region.
The ‘Master Plans: From Architecture to the Economy’ pillar will address
new housing construction technologies, modern transport systems, the
digitalization of cities, and the development of a comfortable living
environment.
The ‘People, Education, and Patriotism’ section will be devoted to
preserving traditional family values, new trends in secondary and higher
education, patriotic education, and support for the culture of Indigenous
peoples.
The Forum programme also includes business dialogues between Russian
entrepreneurs and their partners from China, India, and ASEAN countries.
The 2nd Falcon Day International Forum will take place on the
opening day of the EEF. In addition, the BRICS Creative Innovations Forum, the
APEC International Conference on Higher Education Cooperation, and the Day of
the Future youth programme are also scheduled to be held. Per tradition, the
regions of the Far Eastern Federal District will present their achievements at
the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, which will take place on 3–8 September.

Mikhail Mishustin invited Vietnamese entrepreneurs to participate in SPIEF and EEF
During his official visit to Vietnam, which took place on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin invited representatives and investors of Vietnam to Russia, namely to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum.

European business on the sidelines of international forums: prospects for cooperation
Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov held a meeting with Conoscere Eurasia Association President Antonio Fallico in Moscow at which they discussed prospects for trade and economic relations in the Greater Eurasia space and identified opportunities for cooperation between Russian and European businesses on the sidelines of international forums.

Selection underway for fourth installment of Muravyov-Amursky 2030 Management Programme training civil servants for the Far East and Arctic
The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation are working together to implement the Muravyov-Amursky 2030 Management Programme, providing training for civil servants and development institutions in the Russian Far East.
