A stand dedicated to Russia’s Falcon Day International Forum and other
projects of the Roscongress Foundation has opened at the Abu Dhabi
International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) in the United Arab
Emirates.
“Russia is establishing partnerships on environmental issues with
countries around the world. We are creating platforms for dialogue where unique
mechanisms to preserve natural diversity are being developed based on
scientific experience. One of them is the Falcon Day International Forum, which
will be held for the second time this year. The opening of the thematic stand
at the exhibition in the UAE will help to strengthen our business contacts and
share Russia’s unique environmental protection practices,” Adviser to the
President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Eastern
Economic Forum Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
Visitors to the stand will learn about falcon breeding, rehabilitation,
and reintroduction centres in Russia and the best practices for their
conservation.
The Falcon Day International Forum is a key expert platform that allows
for a comprehensive dialogue and the exchange of experience among
representatives of relevant services of Russia and other countries,
international experts, and scientists who specialize in the protection of birds
of prey and rare species that require special protection measures. One of the
main results of last year’s Forum was the signing of a framework declaration for
Russia, the UAE, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Bahrain to join
forces to protect the gyrfalcon population. The document outlined key areas for
further work and served as an example of how the international community can consolidate
its efforts based on the interests of all parties.
In 2024, the Forum will take place on 3 September in Vladivostok on the
opening day of the Eastern Economic Forum. Participants in the business programme
will discuss all the experience that has been gained in preserving and
restoring birds of prey, digitalization and innovative methods for monitoring
wildlife, the creation of rehabilitation centres, and the work of nurseries.
In addition, the Falcon House exposition will be operating at the Far
East Street exhibition, where guests will learn about birds of the falcon
family, including their habitats, behavioural traits, threats to the
population, and the measures being taken by the government to preserve these
predators. In addition, the United Arab Emirates will partner with the
Roscongress Foundation to set up a stylized open-air ethnocultural space called
Arab Village for the Falcon Day events, where visitors will have a chance to
immerse themselves in the hospitality and distinctiveness of the culture of the
Arabian Peninsula.
ADIHEX is taking place in Abu Dhabi from 31 August to 8 September. The
event is dedicated to the traditional heritage and culture of the UAW. ADIHEX
is the largest specialized event in the Middle East. In 2023, it was attended
by more than 174,000 people from 65 countries, who viewed roughly 1,400 different
exhibits and brands.
