Vostok Fashion Day, a presentation of
the Russian Far East designer collections, took place in Moscow. The event was
organized by the Roscongress Foundation as part of the ‘Days of the Far East in
Moscow’, a festival held on 2–14 December. The best Far Eastern designs were
presented at the innovative Hyundai Motorstudio multi-format brand space.
Vostok Fashion Day is a follow-up to the
Far Eastern designer show, which took place at the Eastern Economic Forum in
Vladivostok. In September, the ‘Far East – Fashion Forpost’ fashion show was
held as part of the cultural programme at the Far Eastern Federal University.
“The Eastern Economic Forum is
aimed primarily at accelerating the economic development of the Russian Far
East and expanding international cooperation. At the same time, the Forum
presents the culture and traditions of the region, as well as its creative
achievements, to guests and participants. ‘Days of the Far East’ events
contribute to the promotion of the region and allow to demonstrate its unique features
to Moscow residents and visitors,” said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the
President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Eastern
Economic Forum Organizing Committee.
As part of Vostok Fashion Day, designers who have already taken part in
Asian Fashion Weeks this season presented their collections. Among them were
Svetlana Nikonova, Julia Vorotnikova, Irina Akulina, Elena Rudermel, Anastasia
Shakleina, Denis Burlakov, Tatyana Vasilyeva and Svetlana Cheremnykh. Students
of the Igor Sarukhanov Creative Centre took the podium during the children’s
collection show.
The event attendees also participated in the prize draw to win trips to
the Valley of Geysers in Kamchatka and to the ‘Oymyakon – the Pole of Cold’
tourism festival in Yakutia.
In addition, guests of Vostok Fashion Day had a chance to hear tunes by
the Far Eastern music performers and see the exhibition ‘Women in Contemporary
Painting by Artists of the Far Eastern Federal District. Madonnas of the Far
East’, which includes 11 works. During the 5th Eastern Economic
Forum, the exhibition was held for guests and participants at the campus of the
Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island, and afterwards it was
presented to Vladivostok residents in the Primorye State Art Gallery.
The 6th Eastern Economic Forum will be held on 2–5 September
2020 in Vladivostok.
