Participants in the ‘Industrial Design for the Far East: Opportunities, Impact, and Challenges. How to Create a New Industry’ session, scheduled for the 8th Eastern Economic Forum under the auspices of the Russian Design Industry Forum, will discuss the outlook for competitive products created in the Far East and Arctic regions in today’s new reality. The EEF is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
“The creative industries have become an integral part of the production process, are increasingly important to product promotion, and design-oriented companies have a clear advantage when it comes to creating a competitive product. Our task is to maximize the development of these competencies in Russian enterprises, to ensure domestic products have everything they need to become more convenient and functional. I have no doubt that discussion participants will succeed in finding the solutions needed to achieve these goals,” Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
During the discussion, experts will consider the pre-requisites for development and factors hindering industrial design’s growing into a key business strategy for the region, the role played by this type of activity in local industrial production, the development of essential infrastructure, and government support measures.
“Industrial design is essential because without it there would be no car, or clothing, or machinery. That’s why issues related to industrial design have been included in EEF 2023’s agenda,” Director of the Roscongress Foundation’s Creative Projects Directorate Ekaterina Ivanova said.
Fashion shows have also been planned for local brands from the Far East to show off their collections.
The 8th Eastern Economic Forum is scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 September on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok.
