The Roscongress Foundation started working on the International Youth Programme for the Eastern Economic Forum. Its contents and goals were presented at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development that was held at the UN Headquarters in New York from 9 to 19 July.
“The topic of sustainable development has been a keynote of all Roscongress Foundation’s events. The Foundation is thus implementing a number of initiatives aimed at bringing together talented young entrepreneurs, researchers, politicians, economists and public figures in order to create platforms for sharing experience and best practices along with specific projects. One of such platforms is Friends for Leadership international pool of leaders and entrepreneurs that unites over 100 young leaders from 40 countries who are combined into themed project groups on social entrepreneurship, technologies, sustainable cities, education and projects for sustainable development. This initiative has gone beyond Russian events and is in demand at key international platforms, including UN-based formats,” noted Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
At the Forum a lot of attention was paid to youth issues and youth involvement in achieving sustainable development goals by 2030. A number of roundtables was held under the auspices of the Forum, where the Roscongress Foundation’s international community of leaders and entrepreneurs Friends for Leadership was presented. Such roundtables were organized by the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, UN-Habitat and UN Women. Active participants with their own sustainable development projects were invited to take part in the Friends for Leadership programme at the Eastern Economic Forum 2019 that will take place on 4–6 September 2019.
The Roscongress Foundation held a special projects presentation as part of the ‘Achieving Sustainable Development Goals through Regional Integration. Expertise of Eurasian Economic Union countries’ exhibition organized by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations together with EAEU partners.

Moscow discussed promoting the potential of the Republic of Kalmykia for its development
A meeting between Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, and Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, was held in Moscow to discuss the implementation of a number of key projects and programmes designed to create a long-term basis for the structural development of the economy of the Republic of Kalmykia and the Caspian region.

Great Bustard Exploring Kalmykia’s Steppe
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, VNII Ecologia, the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, the Roscongress Foundation and Kamchatka Falcon Centre, with the participation of experts and foundations from the Gulf countries, continue to work on the implementation of the order of the President of the Russian Federation and the comprehensive action plan for the establishment of Russian centres for the reintroduction and conservation of falconiform birds in Kamchatka Territory and bustards in the Republic of Kalmykia.
