Magadan Region will present its key investment projects during the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, traditionally held as part of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. The display will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the region. EEF 2023 is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
“In terms of gold mining, Magadan Region ranks first in the Far East and
second in the country. The development of gold ore deposits, such as Natalka
and Pavlik, is of great importance for the welfare of Magadan Region. But other
areas of the economy are also actively developing. New projects in tourism are
appearing: a tourist complex is being created on Zavyalov Island, and Talaya
sanatorium is being modernized. The urban environment in Magadan is gradually
improving. For this purpose, among other things, the city master plan is being
finalized. And of course, there should be more such initiatives aimed at
improving the quality of life of local residents. Participants and guests of
the Eastern Economic Forum will be able to learn more about these projects,
about how the residents of the Magadan region live and what Kolyma is famous
for,” said Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy
to the Far Eastern Federal District.
The main pavilion of Magadan Region will consist of three zones. The
first one is the zone of modern development of the region. It will tell
visitors about the prospects of the region’s development, new investment
projects, construction of mining enterprises and infrastructure facilities,
concluding with the “city of the future”. The display is supplemented with
showcases that will contain exhibits, everyday items of the indigenous peoples
of the North living in Magadan Region. Guests will be able to interact with the
items in the showcases and use an audio guide.
The second one is the interactive map zone. It tells about
transportation infrastructure, Magadan and other settlements, provides
information on investment projects and protected areas. The same zone will
demonstrate an artistic reconstruction of the industrial development of Kolyma.
“Today, a new image of Magadan Region and Magadan as a comfortable environment
for living and working with decent wages, modern housing, public spaces and
necessary social infrastructure is being formed. Guests of the region will
appreciate the opportunities for active, cultural and health tourism,” shared
Sergey Nosov, Governor of Magadan Region.
The third zone of the pavilion will address how Kolyma is becoming a
major tourism centre with a comfortable environment for residents and unique
investment potential. Visitors will learn about new tourist routes and unique
natural and recreational resources. Guests will get a chance to see protected
areas and get information about rare species of plants and animals. The ‘Rare
Species’ projection in the ‘Natural Resources’ zone will complement the main
installation talking about the Magadansky Reserve, Koni Peninsula and the Yam
Islands, and others.
The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is organized by the Roscongress
Foundation with the support of the Office of the Presidential Envoy in the Far
Eastern Federal District.
The Eastern Economic Forum will be held on
10–13 September 2023 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal
University.
