Key projects of Far Eastern Federal District regions to be presented at ‘Far East Street’ exhibition as part of Eastern Economic Forum

Eleven regions of the Russian Far East, alongside several federal ministries, will present their key projects at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition as part of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024. Forum participants will be able to attend the exhibition on 3–6 September, before it is opened to the general public on 7–8 September. The exhibition has been organized by the Roscongress Foundation, with the support of the Office of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.

“The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is a unique opportunity to showcase the culture and economic potential of Russia’s Far Eastern regions to thousands of guests from dozens of countries and attract investors and tourists to these territories. I believe it is important to show people who are attending the Forum what exactly the Russian Far East is and how it lives,” said Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.

The exteriors of the pavilions and the content of the exhibitions are currently being updated.

For example, Amur Region will update attendees about the development of the Blagoveshchensk–Heihe cross-border settlement zone. Visitors to the Jewish Autonomous Region’s exhibit will learn about the production of iron ore concentrate and the mining of brucite and graphite.

The Zabaykalsky Krai will focus on demonstrating the region’s investment potential and logistics capabilities. A colossal sculpture by Dashi Namdakov, more than six metres high, will be created especially for the event.

Kamchatskiy Krai will take visitors on a virtual tour of the region. Magadan Region will present the developments and research results of the Arctic Research Centre, and plans are to showcase the Russian-made Burlak all-terrain vehicle at the exhibition.

The Republic of Buryatia will showcase its tourist potential, and will also host a zone dedicated to Eastern medicine, as well as a gallery of Buryat artisans to exhibit and sell folk arts and crafts and promote factories that produce traditional Buryat products.

The Sakha Republic (Yakutia) has completely overhauled its pavilion to reflect the hot Yakutia summer. The centrepiece of the exhibit will be Altan Serge – a traditional Yakut tethering post, as well as a place to perform rituals and receive blessings.

Primorsky Territory will focus on attracting investors and developing cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific. Sakhalin Oblast will showcase its successes in the development of unmanned aircraft, as well as the tourist potential of the Northern Kuril Islands.

Khabarovsky Krai will present its technological breakthroughs, most notably the development of cutting-edge aircraft, while visitors to the Chukotka Autonomous District’s stand will learn about the urban renovation projects taking place in the region and work opportunities in this sector.

“The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is one of the highlights of the Eastern Economic Forum. It traditionally attracts a large number of guests from among Forum participants, as well as from locals and people visiting Vladivostok. The exhibit contributes significantly to the comprehensive development of the Russian Far East, attracting new investors, strengthening the competitiveness of businesses, introducing guests to the unique culture of the peoples of the region and its tourist destinations, and showcasing the large-scale infrastructure projects that are being implemented

there,” noted Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Eastern Economic Forum Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov.

The exhibit presented jointly by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation will be dedicated to the mechanisms of state support for investments operating in the macro-region, as well as for socially significant programmes implemented at the behest of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin aimed at improving the overall standard of living. Themed interactive multimedia exhibits (‘Travel’, ‘Study’, ‘Work’, ‘Live’) will tell visitors about unique tourist destinations and infrastructure, as well as about the opportunities that are being created in the Russian Far East for obtaining higher and specialized education, building a career in newly created enterprises, and setting up businesses.

The outdoor section of the Developing the Far East’ exhibit will feature a tasting area where visitors can try products produced on a Far Eastern hectare, get the latest information on the free land programme, and talk to people who are already taking part in it. The trade and demonstration portion of the exhibit will also include products made by new enterprises set up by residents of jurisdictions with preferential regimes.

Guests at the exhibition will be able to listen to participants in the ‘Far East – Land of Adventures’ All-Russian travel competition talk about their experience travelling around the Russian Far East: they can watch their video diaries in the pavilion, study the routes they took, and find inspiration for their own trips.

As per tradition, the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation will host exhibits of its own on ‘Far East Street’ exhibition. The ‘Sport – a vital norm’ pavilion will serve as a platform for discussing the latest developments in the industry, while the Sports Arena will be the centre of the Forum’s sporting events.

The Falcon House pavilion will also operate as part of the exhibition. The Arabian Village was a huge hit among Forum participants last year. This year will see an expanded version of the exhibit, its opening timed to coincide with the Falcon Day International Forum, which will take place on the opening day of the Eastern Economic Forum 2024.

The central part of the venue will again host cultural programme events, with representatives of all of the regions of the Russian Far East taking part.

For the first time at the Eastern Economic Forum, guests on ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will be treated to a Fish Market organized by Primorsky Territory, where they can sample Far Eastern cuisine, including signature dishes made from pollock, scallops, crab, and mussels.

The 9th Eastern Economic Forum will take place on 3–6 September on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
