On 6
September, the 5th Eastern Economic Forum will host the 2nd
Russian-Korean Interregional Forum with support
from the Roscongress Foundation.
The forum’s topic is ‘Exploring New
Opportunities’.
The event aims
to discuss economic cooperation between 11 regions of the Russian Far East and
South Korea’s administrative
divisions. The forum will also present priorities in the Far East development,
as well as bilateral investment projects.
On 5
September, the Russian–Korea Business Dialogue will
be held under the auspices of the Russian-Korean Interregional Forum. It will
bring in government officials and members of business communities from both
countries.
The Agreement to hold this event on an
annual basis was signed by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir
Putin and the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in on 22 June 2018
during the Korean leader’s visit to
Russia. The 1st Russian-Korean
Interregional Forum took place in November 2018 in Pohang (South Korea) and
involved representatives of 9 Far Eastern Federal District regions and 17
regional governments of the Republic of Korea, as well as over 200 business
people.
At the close
of the event, the 2nd Russian-Korean Interregional
Forum in Vladivostok will host the official ceremony of passing the baton to
the city of Ulsan (South Korea) that will hold the next year’s forum.
The 5th
Eastern Economic Forum will take place in Vladivostok on 4–6 September.
